Carbon templates disintegrating
I have been a long-time Oakley fan. The style and fit are always perfect. Unfortunately, all four pairs I've purchased over the years have had disastrous flaws with the socks. After a few months of use, the socks fall off or disintegrate.I had given up on Oakleys until I saw the Pitchman Carbon. The sockless template protected by durable carbon was the perfect solution to the Oakley sock problem, so I was willing to pay more. However, after about a year, I started noticing cracks in the carbon. Then the carbon started to break off, exposing sharp metal at the point the template touches my ears. Oakley does not have replacement parts or a sock, so I have to buy a new pair of glasses. This was the final straw, I will never buy another pair of Oakley again. If you are going to replace your glasses every few months and like the fit and style, then Oakley frames will be good for you. However, if you take good enough care of your glasses that you can wear them for a couple of years or more, avoid the Oakley's.
