easy to use, easy to clean
I've only been been using for 3 wks, but I am happy with the performance of the Techwood ES-3105 hot plate so far. I bought it when my out of warranty glass top electric range fried the same circuit board that had to be replaced twice while it was still under warranty, while I decide on a new range. The Techwood is lower wattage than any of the burners on my old range, so of course it takes longer for water to to boil, but only by about 4 min. I like that it has an automatic shut off feature and that the fan continues to run until the unit is completely cooled off. At that point, you have to unplug it to turn off power light, which I consider to be a desirable safety feature (anybody see "This is Us"? Who wouldn't want a visible reminder to unplug an appliance not in use? Incidentally, I do not find the fan to be too loud in my smallish open plan kitchen/dining/living room. I do not have to turn up T.V. while the fan is running.I did not find anything about it's operation difficult. It is easy to clean, reliable (so far--will update if that changes), and efficient enough that I may not need a whole new range/oven.My only request of Techwood is that they make a second, larger size with a 9-10" diameter cooking element of 2500 watts. Then I would definitely not replace electric range.

Love it!!!
Easy to use, easy to clean. I can use all my pots and pans on it and still adjust the temperature or set in how many minutes it should shut itself off. It brings a big pot of water(covered) to a rolling boil to make pasta in minutes and maintains a low boil to cook the pasta properly, uncovered. It has a wide range of temperature settings, from warm to very hot, that it maintains well. I've never had to go above 90. The fan keeps the unit from over heating so the burner stays at the temperature you set constantly. When you turn it off, the fan stays on for a while to help cool the unit so you can put your pan back on it after serving without worrying about it burning to a crisp. All in all, after making a few dozen meals with this burner, I'm very, very happy.

Nice
It can do what many hot plates can’t. Boil water! Who would of thought. Build quality could be slightly better. I like that the unit stays cool to the touch while using the heating element. Built in fans are great.

Great cooktop !
I love to cook, but the smell afterwards every time is too strong, so I needed to cook somewhere else. This cooktop is great because it enabled me to do it. How? Well due to this thing, I can now cook in the garage so the smell won’t be in the house. Also cooks very fast, maybe even fast than my stove, I don’t know since I obviously didn’t do a second to second comparison but feels like it’s really close if not faster! Very convenient to change temperature and timer as well. Also can be used like/with a hotpot. Overall great cooktop!

Very good product.
It heats up fast. I use it for stir fry in my outdoor kitchen. it cooks up the food faster than my other infrared cooktops. the power, the quality, the size, the portability and the convenience of use, really making this a great and handy piece to have around a house.

Disappointed in design.
From what I had read I thought this would be my best choice in a portable burner for cooking demonstrations.I used twice on the very first day it arrived.I was very disappointed in the design and function. With the power button being on top of the unit, if your pan moves over it even slightly, it will inadvertently shut the unit off without your knowledge and you’ll wonder why you’re losing heat until you finally realize what had happened. This happened twice— once each time I used it on the very first day.Very frustrating in the middle of a cooking demo.I will return the product.

So far so good
Powerful little cooktop. it is really a life saver when my range was out of service due to kitchen remodel.

Great spare burner for the holidays
It is very easy to use. Love the timer feature and the fact that it has a built-in fan so it doesn't necessarily have to be placed over a vent to use. The only negative is that if you use an oversized pan it can accidentally turn on/off the burner but it does beep to alert you to this.
