Ryobi E49MM01 Digital LED Pinless Moisture Meter for Softwood, Drywall, and Masonry (9 Volt Battery Included)

Can’t beat the value. I knew I had water damage in my log sided home. I have woodmin both the inside and outside. This product worked great, I was able to track where the interior moisture was the moisture was the highest and trace it to the cause of the leak. This product did exactly what I wanted it to do and prevented more damage.

Been using this device for about 2 weeks now. It seems to be working quite well although I have not had the chance to compare its readings for accuracy against a $500 meter, but it seems in line with previous readings I took with the expensive one. I had a pin type meter but it would not even begin to penetrate Hickory wood. This is easy to use, big number display along with lights and audible, however they could have backlit the display to make it easier to read indoors or in a shadowed area. Time will tell if it holds up. I have generally had good luck with Ryobi for homeowner use items.

Spend a little more money and get what you pay for, some of the cheaper versions aren’t accurate. This literally tells you how much water and where it’s at!! Highly recommend!

It worked ok, really only good for a few uses. Not very accurate to the higher end ones out there.

This Probably saved me thousands of dollars! We had a pipe burst in a second story master shower and after a day my husband thought it was dry enough to patch up. I used to work in the drywall industry and knew enough to know that moisture trapped behind drywall is BAAAAADDDD NEWS!! I ordered this through Amazon prime and had it delivered next day. Thank God I did; because, while the wall felt dry to the touch and by glance it looked dry, this meter showed that there was a 100% moisture about 3 feet below where we had opened up the wall. That was where the floor joist was. Another couple days, some damp-rid and air circulators got moisture down to <10% and we could patch up the wall with no worries of mold!!!

This did not work. I don't think it was me because if I put it on the floor, it would register really high. It didn't matter where in the house I was. If I put it on the wall, it never registered. The company was really good about giving a refund, though.

When arrive something was moving inside, worked for few days as I use it everyday for my work.Our company has few of this devices, unfortunately this one started to give wrong readings.(Price is double then in stores and got broken after few days) BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE
