Yes and no…. Most products like this have a timeframe listed close to the barcode usually. This one says 12M (12 months) which is basically the recommended time to use it within… however- I’ve used this brand before and it was good well past the timeframe. Some products are better than others as far as their longevity- this brand from my experience is one of the better ones in that aspect.

Q: Do I have to use it before or after the iron?

You use it on damp hair and then blow dry your hair then use the iron. This will not make your hair silky soft. It’s more of a heat protectant.

Q: can i straigthnen synthetic hair?

No. Not recommended to use any heat on synthetic hair. Fibres can melt.

Q: can you use this with hairgel?

I put this on with wet hair. I’m sure it would work with gel.
