These lamps give excellent light and the stated average life of 30,000 hours should obviate the chore of getting out the ladder at regular intervals to change bulbs. However, setting the degree of darkness at which at which the light goes on and the length of time it stays on are a real pain, particularly if you try to do so up a ladder after installation. As regards the point at which the light comes on, I have attempted to set the switch prior to installation by adjusting it in daylight, in a partly darkened garage and in a darkened room, but once installed two of the lights still come on prematurely, requiring further adjustment. As for the length of time the light stays on, just an infinitesimal fraction of a millimetre turn of the adjusting knob can mean the difference between 10 and 25 seconds. Also, these lights come pre-wired. As I was replacing lights with wiring already in place, I chose to use waterproof connectors rather than try to remove the wire from the light and connect the existing wire to it, a fiddly job and one which might possibly lead to water penetration.
