Smooth, light and fast
I replaced a much heavier FSA A-Drive, 48-38-28 with the Tru Firex. The external bearings of the Tru are silk smooth. The crank is much lighter and feels very precise on shifts and spins really well and fast. I can do 150 rpm's and above with ease. I simply love my Truvativ Firex 3.3 now. I am a SRAM fan and use X.9 front and rear dr's on my bike setup which adds to the smooth, light and fast experience.

Not enough product information
Amazon does not provide enough product information with this crankset. I was initially unsure whether to order it because the description was ambiguous about whether it was a 48-36-26 or a 44-32-22. It did turn out to be a 48-36-26 which is what I was looking for. However, what was not specified was the fact that this crankset gives you a 50mm chainline, so if you want to use it on a road frame with STI shift levers you will likely encounter problems getting your front derailleur to work with it. I wanted to use this for my touring/commuter bike as a replacement for a circa 2004 Shimano LX M572 Hollowtech crankset with a 47.5mm chainline. But I use Shimano 105 STI levers and have been using an old RSX front derailleur for a long time. Even if I completely remove the set screw, my front derailleur doesn't have enough reach to get to the big ring because of the increased chainline. So to use this crankset I will also have to get a new derailleur. However, MTB front derailleurs tend not to work very well with STI levers because of the difference in mechanical advantage between MTB and road shifters so this probably won't work either (especially because the water bottle mounts are in an odd place that limit my choices to top swing derailleurs - should I get a new frame to fit the crankset?). My old Hollowtech arms are actually lighter, (though I didn't do a total weight comparison including the bottom brackets) so I think I'll just look for some new rings. This crankset could be good but I haven't been able to actually try it. If you want it for a mountain bike then fine, but you might think twice if you are putting this on a touring bike with road levers.

Firex Crankset
Its true that the description is ambiguous, showing different numbers of teeth. But my Firex is a 48-36-26 set up and that seems to be the typical chainring setup of the original Firex models. Until Amazon clears up the confusion, expect that the set up could be that or the 44-33-22 which seems to be current. And, as indicated by the bolt circles, the Firex cranks have a chainline equal to a normal mountain bike chainline. If you intend to install on an existing road bike, expect to have to replace the front derailleur because it will not likely be able to move the chain far enough to reach the large ring. I had to replace the road bike front derailleur with a SRAM X-7 to move the chain far enough. That said, installation was straightforward. The included GXP bottom bracket is integral to the cranks and needs to match the width of your frame shell, but was easy to install. The Firex shifts very smoothly and consistently and has proven to be very durable for me. I have over 4200 miles on one now and I don't believe it has ever thrown the chain. The cranks have been totally secure and free of any movement. The Truvativ ramps and pins on the chain rings very satisfactory and wear has been very modest.Truvative does have online documents for its cranks, and there are adequate installation instructions.
