So Many Features!
Measure Mate has so many features that I don't know where to start! It makes it so easy to locate the center of a picture when applying a hanger. The built in level makes it so simple to hang a picture straight the first time. There is even a perfect little notch for your pencil mark. The nail holder will save you many thumb injuries. One side is a centering ruler, and one is a traditional ruler. It also has metric measurements. One tool does it all!

Great Design!
Solid Product! The triangle design provides great stability, great for cutting straight edges (I used it to cut sheets of sandpaper and the knife guides were very helpful), nice hook to hang it with (that is removable if needed), and the levels are a great addition! Overall product feels great in your hands and has some weight to it.

Great tool - almost
So, I received my MM today (yes, abbreviations) and overall I like it. I have already made use of it to hang several pictures, a floating shelf, and some shelves in the laundry room. It is a GREAT time saver and such a simple product. That being said, there are a couple small beefs I have with it:1) The slides - So, the two little red slides that you use to mark measurements, that move back and forth along the rail. These things move a little TOO easy. Lets say I'm working on, I dunno, a floating shelf. And I have it on the table and I line up the slides perfectly so I can mark the wall. If I'm not careful with how i hold the MM, and how I place it against the wall, the slides will easily move throwing off my measurements. I would have put the screws in the wrong place if I did not follow the addage of "measure twice, cut once". When I went back to the table, I noticed that my slides were nearly 1/2" from where I had set them when I was on the table originally. I didn't touch them, or move them, or even swing around the MM over my head to cause centrifugal force to do its job. Maybe if they didn't slide free? Or if there was a knob or lever that locked them in place? I dunno. But with how loose they are right now, you need to be careful, or at least you do with mine. At the end, I was just putting tape on the slides when I found their spot. Not something I should really need to do with a product less than one hour out of the packaging.2) Accuracy of the product description - On the amazon product page, they repeatedly refer to a feature that marks standard distances of different fixtures. Here's a couple quotes:"as well as standard placement markings along its profile for easy alignment of electrical outlets, sockets and plumbing fixtures." And then "Standard placement markings of electrical outlets, sockets and plumbing fixtures."As you can see in the first picture I included, there are no such markings. One of the reasons I PURCHASED this tool was because it had these included, and would save me a few moments on occasion when I needed to calculate those things. It's sure on the pics on the product page, but not on the product I received. So, there ya have it. I think the whole idea is great, and even with the cheesy slides it will benefit me greatly for many tasks around the house. I'll probably eventually drop up a model of the slides and print them on my 3d printer, unless Kapro wants to send me a couple of better ones.On those slides, I was thinking that part of the issue with them MAY not be the manufacture (though some sort of lock would be nice), but maybe the packaging. the packaging for these things consists of a small piece of cardboard tie-wrapped to one end. Which means that the mechanical bits of the thing (the slides) can and are hit, dinged, broken (if you read the other reviews here), and basically just out in the open. Heck, look at my second picture. My MM arrived in a box WAY bigger than it was with no padding, so it pretty much rattled around inside that box and who knows how many times those slides impacted the side of the box. Could you imagine a whole case of these in the same box, hitting each other each time the box is moved? Maybe its no wonder the slides are loose/broken by the time they make it to the consumer. Maybe a little better job on the packaging could prevent these issues. One final note. Has anyone else figured out the small hole on the slide? Look at my third picture, and you'll see a small hole on the slide with a cross-hair fashioned over it. No matter how I turn the slide, that hole is always over the slide itself so its not for marking. Maybe its for the "placement markings" that are missing from the product?
