Not cotton.
When I opened the package, I feel the bags doesn’t like cotton. So I burned one of the drawstring, it’s not cotton.

Appear to meet my needs.
These are simple muslin (as advertised) bags, sewn adequately for minimal use, with string to cinch the top of the bag together and to have a way to fish the bag out of the vessel in which you're brewing your tea. They had an unpleasant smell which I hoped is related to storage, and I took them out of the plastic bag they came in, and put them in a net bag, which facilitated their airing out. The seller says they can be reused if you empty them out, then turn them inside out to dry so you can remove anything which stuck. We'll see how well that works.I have some empty nylon tea bags I had obtained to use when the tea particles remaining from Chinese tea cakes were no longer large enough to steep well in a gaiwan or teapot, as they would just pour out with the tea. I had drunk tea made with one of two of them, and the tea tasted good (rather than being exceptional), and was relaxing, just as it is when I make it more traditionally, but it had a slightly odd taste which had not been there before.I already had some concerns about whether any plastic ended up in our bodies from brewing tea, and thought that it probably did, but when I read the new research, I resolved to get rid of the nylon teabags, including the ones with some of one of my favourite teas sealed in them, and find another solution. Being highly allergic to paper, muslin seemed the logical choice, which is how I ended up getting these. They appear to be what I need, except that the aroma was initially off-putting. They have aired out well. My only remaining concern is that the lack of a tag means that I shall have to store them in separate containers once filled with different teas.

Exactly as represented to be but the string could be better
They arrived quickly, well packed against damage and they are exactly what I need. They are easy to clean - I just turn mine inside out to dry so I can brush them off and then if I want more cleaning, swish them around in soapy water, rinse and hang up to dry with a clothespin. One complaint: the drawstring isn't quite long enough and seems to be separating into fine strands even before I use the bags. My advice to buyers is to knot the ends immediately so they won't fray so fast. The bag material seems to be sturdy enough for a lot of use but the string, in my opinion is not as good. The manufacturers should have used a good package string, as most others do, or at least did when I bought my last batch of these.

These are the Ones You Want
BE CAREFUL: Many products that say "cotton" or "muslin" or "flax" or whatever apparently get away with it because the *drawstring* is a natural fibre. In most cases I've gotten, the material of the *bag* is some synthetic plastic/paper stuff. These are the first we've gotten that are really, truly woven fabric.I used them for herb sachets in cooking and these work splendidly. Liquid flows freely through them and even smaller-grained spices tend to stay inside. A solid product, an done of my few five-star review. They also look "apothecary" if I can use a noun as an adjective -- old-school, simple sachets, unbleached and light. Very nice.

Some coffee grounds leak but works well for me
I like these a lot, they work well for what I need them for. I make a pitcher of cold brew coffee, so I fill two up and put them in my glass pitcher overnight. The reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is when I fill up the water I do see grains of coffee come out. It is never a bunch but I do notice it in every pitcher. I tie the bag and then I use the strings to tie just under the top knot to make sure I get as little amount coffee grains as possible in my coffee. My pitcher has a mesh part on top so none of the coffee grains ever get in my coffee anyway and it is never enough to clog the mesh so I have no problem with them at all. If you do not have a mesh liner on your pitcher I would say you will probably get some coffee grounds in your morning cup.

Multipurpose bags
I was on the hunt for reusable teabags that were big enough to also use as bath sachets (you do not want those flower and herb buds, petals, leaves going down your drain or you'll be calling the plumber...trust me.)These bags feel like the standard muslin my grandma used to have and they work great for loose leaf teas and bath sachets. I've even made a couple scent sachets for my lingerie drawer with dried lavender and hibiscus and a few drops of essential oil.The wash up well with hot water and a little baking soda, though the tea does stain them just by default.I'm thoroughly pleased with them.

Best Bags I've Used
I received my item very quickly. Very good durability. Great value for the money. I apologize for delayed ratings. Sometimes, I don't use the products as soon as I received them. Once, I use them I can give it a fair and honest review. I don't use these bags for teas, coffee etc. I use them by placing mothballs in them and placing them in my engine compartment to keep the rodents away. Since, my cars are not driven daily. Seems to work so far. I do have to move them out of way before I start my engine.

They do the job and last quite a while
I use these to brew large batches of sweet tea to feed my kombucha. I can get dozens of brews out of them (I'm still on my first one) and they hold up nicely. It is incredibly easy to clean one out and there is no impact on flavor. They do stain, but I'm steeping them in tea for extended periods of time multiple times week. I like to watch the color evolve.
