Just What Was Needed to Solve Motor Home Design Flaw
Bought and installed this to access the water filter in my 30' Class-C motor home. Scatterbrained engineers decide it needed to be under the bed box, and behind electrical and A/C ducting, and far enough away that unless youโre a 6'-6" contortionist/basketball player you won't have long enough arms.Checked inside and out, measured, checked again, and then drilled a 3" hole in the middle of my planned installation. Took a stiff piece of wire and checked for structure on all four sides of the hole, and discovered that I needed to move it sideways 3/4". I used the unit to mark the hole location, taped up the outside surface to protect it, and cut the hole with a saber saw. Just a little grinding and a lot of vacuuming the beaded polystyrene and was ready for install.I used clamps and blocks of wood (cut from large paint sticks) to hold it in place after slathering up the opening and under the bezel with clear caulk. Gave it two days to dry and Viola! I have ACCESS. Also discovered that previous owner had removed filter cartridge and not replaced it!? I wish I could have fitted a slightly larger unit, but there wasn't room, and this does solve my problem. I did mount it with the hinge edge vertical and towards the front of the RV.

Sturdy construction.
Used the door to add an access panel on back of camper. Looks really good. Locks securely.
