Awesome easy way to make caramel corn at home
Having recently made caramel corn for our family movie night (using the lazy recipe, aka the no-bake method), I was looking for an even easier solution to enjoy a sweet and crunchy snack with our movies. I started by looking at the microwave kettle corn, since I already knew about those products. During my search, I came across this microwave caramel corn and was intrigued. Unfortunately, none of the grocery stores in my area carry it and I was hesitant to buy an entire case of it on Amazon, but I decided to take the plunge- worst case I could give them away if my family didn't care for them. Well, as far as preparation is concerned, this caramel corn is much easier to make than homemade, of course. If you're expecting it be as easy as making microwave popcorn, than you will be disappointed The first step is making the popcorn, just like regular microwave popcorn. Then you have to remove the seeds and place the popcorn in a glass bowl. One tip for removing the seeds is not to fully open the bag of popcorn after you take it out of the microwave- pull the opening just wide enough to let the seeds out. Then, turn the bag upside down and shake the seeds into a bowl and discard the seeds. After pouring the popcorn into a glass bowl (I used a ceramic bowl because I don't have a big glass bowl sitting around), then you carefully cut open the caramel packet, remove the top piece of the packet, and then cut the big piece of caramel into 4 pieces. You place these pieces onto the popcorn and microwave for 1-1 1/2minutes. I actually found that I needed to microwave mine for 2 minutes. After it's done cooking, you mix it up until the caramel is evenly distributed over the popcorn (I found a pair of metal tongs to be good for doing this task). While I managed to get the caramel pretty well incorporated (i.e. there was at least a little caramel on every piece of popcorn), it was impossible to get it evenly distributed. I have tried returning the popcorn and caramel to the microwave again to melt the caramel, so I can mix it up some more, but even that didn't work. After it cools, the caramel hardens, so you're left with crunchy caramel corn. Another tip is to make sure any dish or utensil that touched the hot caramel gets soaked in hot water, so it's easier to wash. The taste is pretty good, but not fantastic. The caramel is made with margarine, so it lacks that wonderful real butter flavor that caramel usually has. All this said, I'm glad I bought it and I'll probably buy it again since my family likes it and it's pretty easy to make. I hope you like it too.

I missed this stuff... so tasty.
This popcorn is awesome. I used to buy this all the time at the grocery store until one day all of a sudden everyone stopped carrying it for some reason. Glad to find it online and the price per unit is pretty reasonable compared to the store price. This is the kind that has the separate packet of caramel that you add on top of a popped bowl of popcorn and then microwave and fold it all together.

I was incredibly reluctant to purchase these 12 packs of a caramel popcorn I had never tried. When they arrived, my husband was like, ummm, that's a lot of popcorn! I can now say, I am VERY glad I did. This stuff is GOOD, like real good, and it is not difficult to make. All you need is a microwave and a large microwave safe bowl. You might also consider purchasing a larger size pant as well. Once you start a box, you'll want to make more!

All the parts are yummy, but it's hard to get it to mix evenly.
Pretty good, but sort of a hassle to do the caramel. The popcorn is simple enough; you pop it as usual, but then you have to take out a huge caramel pouch, put that into the bag, and re-nuke it a wee bit, and hope that it spreads evenly...well...it doesn't. Don't get me wrong, the caramel's delicious, and the popcorn's delicious...but there's no really easy good way to get the caramel to spread evenly, because the bag is too small and the caramel isn't really warmed up enough. The caramel comes in a metallic bag so you can't just nuke that then pour it either. :( ...too bad.Overall, the flavors are good. It's just inconvenient to try to piece together. Sorta like the caramely part of moose-munch.What I really miss is the caramel popcorn that I think ACT III used to make? That caramel spread easily and came as a slab in the inside of the popcorn pouch itself, so that when you heated it, it heated the caramel too, so you don't get a solid huge lump.

Love it almost as much as life itself! Soooo addictive!
If you love to make popcorn with the distinct taste of caramel, then this is the right one to choose. You melt the caramel on hot microwaved popcorn. The way I do it is, instead of breaking the caramel into 4 sections, tear off about 12 and spread them around all of the popcorn. Then microwave for 15 seconds, stir the mixture, and microwave for another 15 seconds,. Voila! Perfect caramel popcorn and everyone loves it!!!!

Great taste
The caramel once opened sits squarly on top of the popped corn. Putting the bag back in the microwave for another minute melts the caramel through the bag of popped corn. Just shake the bag to make sure it is distributed evenly and dump the corn onto a cookie sheet and eat. Mmmm Good.
