Perfect for a USB-C MacBook
Honestly, this product worked absolutely perfectly. Have the USB-C side plugged into my MacBook Pro, with the HDMI end plugged into my monitor. Worked like a charm. Zero issues, no flickering or other weird disconnects that you get with other cables.Only thing I’d say is the price is “a little high” for what you’re getting. That said, if it just works as it should, I’d rather not fuss with lower priced, lower quality models.Would highly recommend.

Does not work with new MacBook Pro.
Constant flashing, will not consistently connect MacBook Pro to TV or display from any of the USB-C ports. The 'Cable Matters USB C to HDMI Cable' works much better. Try that instead. It's takes a few seconds to connect, but it seems solid.I also tested the official Apple adapter hub and found that Active HDMI cables behave similarly to this StarTech cable (they don't work), but a passive HDMI cable is instantaneous and maintains a solid connection, similar to the Cable Matters cable (though the Cable Mattters cable isn't as fast).I don't know for certain, but perhaps the StarTech cable employs something similar to an active HDMI cable at the controller end.

Note: This cable is HDMI output to USB-C input
I purchased this with the idea of sending the signal from my MacBook (USB-C) to an external monitor (HDMI), but it didn't work. I grabbed an old PC laptop and sent the signal from that (HDMI) to my monitor (USB-C) and it DID work. Then I looked at the package and sighed. So, the cable works, but the description was wrong and it doesn't meet my needs, so I'm going to return it to Amazon and look into getting what I need. I'd give it 5 stars since the product does what it's supposed to do, but I'm giving it 3 stars as a heads up because the description was wrong.

Mismatched on description
Did not match the sizing for use as it was described. Too big and mismatched what they claimed it was supposed to fit.

Failed in 15 months
Still looks brand new, but no longer works. Tested thoroughly to ensure it was the cable that failed.

Disconnects a lot
Works rather well, will randomly disconnect. Have to unplug and replug to get working .

Super thin cable!
for that price, the cable is super thin, super short and the print-out on the end of the cables is so low quality.
