Q: How many shaves per blade?

Depending on how often you shave can be as many as 10 shaves to even more. I bought 100 and for the price I use 1 new blade per shave. Reasonably priced @ approx .25 cents a blade makes it easy to use once and throw away.

Q: Are these better than merkur blades?

Yes, they are. Merkur blades are among the worst in all of shaving. Complete garbage. The Gillette platinum is an elite blade.

Q: Does Gillette make any blades in the US?

No. Most Gillette safety razor blades are made in Russia (Gillette Platinum, Perma Sharp, Silver Blue, Nacet, etc.)

Q: Are these still in production? So many cartridge blades from Gillette now?
