Pilgrim Home and Hearth 18086 Sinclair Fireplace Tool Set, Burnished Brass, 20 Pounds

This was a Christmas gift for my husband that replaced a still functional, but run-of-the mill, set that we’ve had for an eternity. We absolutely love the solid and clean, sleek look of this tool set. It has substance, not at all flimsy. The brushed gold (not antique gold) is stunning — perfect — and you don’t easily find it. I like that the hanging tools are secured by indentations in the horizontal bar, and still easy to pick up when you want them. I tried in vain to find a recommended screen match by Pilgrim, so I tabled further search until after Christmas when we did it together. We found the screen pictured here in another brand, which cost must less (balancing the total cost). I saw reviews about breaking tools; our cheap set held up, so I hope this does, too. We’ve used the tools for a few fires thus far, and they’ve held up.

This set did not require assembly upon arrival, that was a plus. It is very heavy and sturdy and I love the fact that it is very clean looking and slim lined so it’s not overpowering and obnoxious looking on the hearth. I recommend this fireplace set.

I had been looking for a brushed gold set of fireplace tools that didn't look so shiny. This set is just perfect and I get many compliments. I probably won't ever have to get another, but if I did... this would be it.

This set is classy and beautiful. Even if you don't end up using it, it will be a timeless addition to your fireplace. It's a hefty 20lbs, so pretty heavy!

I love this product but had a tongs failure on my 5th or 6th fire using the set. It frankly shocked me in that my previous set had to be 15 years old probably 1,000 fires without a flinch. So, with that said I was AMAZED at how fast this was remedied. The tongs failed on a THUR, I submitted a return that night, and by Sunday the new set was in my garage...amazing...and then by 8AM Monday morning the defective tongs were packed up and the box dropped off at UPS. Amazon blew my mind with this level of customer service...and I have been a Prime customer for close to 20 years....anyway, I LOVE the fireplace tools but understandably I need to regain confidence in the tongs before I can promote this to a 5-star review. Great looking, excellent materials, more heavy than light duty...and they match my Pilgrim screen -- so the whole setting is beautiful.

This set is beautiful and perfect in my mid century home. I looked through lots of images on several sites and there were many that would have fit my criteria. Some cheaper. Some more expensive. This set was perfect and it's made here in the USA. But what I wanted to add to this review is that one of the pieces was damaged (probably by us, to be fair) so I looked up the mfr and they responded quickly and not only replaced the damaged piece but sent a whole new set because they feared the brass wouldn't be exactly the same as the original! That is amazing customer service (Thank you Luba Shirokova!) and to me that's even more important than anything else. Well done!

It overexceeded my expectations

Bought this as a gift for our soon to be new neighbours. They are so grateful as the set is classy, well made and ideal for their large log fire. I was drawn to it because there was no knobs or other objects that are screwed on and in my experience, can work loose. Quality product.
