Love the fact that it performs just as well or even better than the gas equipment I replaced. I also love the fact that I can listen to my music while doing yard work and not having to blast the volume to hear. This equipment saves your hearing, thanks EGO

You don't get as much whip as a gas trimmer but for a city/suburban yard it'll get the job done. Battery life is ok for smaller yards. Weight is a bit back heavy due tp the battery. Nothing too surprising. All in all, good for residential use.

Have used both the string trimmer and edger a couple of times now and I'm totally satisfied. Battery life for me is exceptional. The changing tools on the power head is very easy. The power of these tools exceeds my old gas-powered unit. Absolutely no issues to date. I did later buy the shoulder strap to facilitate helping hold/carry the unit. Recommended!

I got tired of paying $125 for annual service on my gas weed wacker to replace the fuel line that the ethanol-amended fuels destroy each year. Yea, I could have spent $8 a pint for ethanol-free fuel, but I chose instead to go electric with EGO. Plenty of power and additional tool heads for different tasks. I am very pleased. It is a well thought out product that defines the utility of electric weed wackers and edgers.

These trimming tools do a great job! See photo. The battery lasts through several weeks of trimming and I have about 1/3 acre to weedeat and trim. I don't have the issue of a gas engine not starting and I always seem to be mixing gas with oil. The battery is a bit heavy so I would suggest buying the shoulder strap.

The unit didn’t work when I received it and wasn’t what I ordered. It was supposed to have automatic line rewinding; there was no instruction manual, and the whole unit with either attachment was heavy. Attempted to contact Manufactor for warranty instructions to return the the two attachments without any response.

I had a hard time choosing between this combo unit or the dedicated trimmer and edger. The dedicated trimmer does have the auto-wind feature but adding string to this unit is easy and only takes a minute, so I'm glad I went with the combo and saved some money. Plus I like the idea adding other attachments in the future as needed.The motor is plenty powerful for both trimming and edging and after dealing with multiple gas-powered trimmers in the past, I can say I actually enjoy lawn care again! No pump priming, mixing oil and gas, etc., just keep the battery charged and it just goes!I only have a few quibbles, thus the 4-star rating:• The front-assist handle is really flexible, making the tool feel cheap and harder to maneuver precisely.• String cutter on the housing is pretty dull. Seems to only cut at very high speed on #2 setting. I'm considering sharpening it myself to make it so I can advance the line at lower speeds.• It's a bit heavy. For my yard, I probably could get by with the smaller (and lighter) battery to make it more nimble. But as with most things, there are trade-offs. The 5Ah battery does provide plenty of juice for all the trimming, edging and even blowing (also have the 540 CFM blower) needed on our 1/4-acre lot.
