Gatsby X Vintage Heavy Duty Fast Mobility Scooter Long Range (Red)

Very classy looking ride! It runs great. Nice smooth ride and very comfortable to boot! It goes faster than other mobility scooters, yet not fast enough to be dangerous. Goes up the ramp to my front door with ease. The upholstered seat is roomy and well padded and comfortable. The light are nice and bright and I love that it has turn signals, and they're right on the control panel and easy to locate. We love it so much, now my Husband wants to get one.

This scooter does not do well on hills, even fully charged and it starts freewheeling backwards on a steep incline. My incline by my house is 15%, it would not even begin to climb it before it started rolling backwards until I turned it off. More disappointing is the fact that both the seller and Amazon have been non responsive to my multiple requests to return it. It is marketed as the most powerful scooter on the market. I also own a Pride Pursuit XL and it has identical range and makes the incline without problem. This experience has soured me on both the scooter and Amazon.

Best scooter I've ridden!Pro's:1. The bonnet opens with its own key and is a great place to store lunch. It's about the size of a six-pack. (Not that I'm giving you any ideas.)2. Has a sturdy, standard size trailer hitch.3. Very, very little assembly. Just the mirrors and horn to put on, and plastic to take off.4. Seat adjusts up/down, forward/back, leans forward/back, and swivels left/right.5. Very fast AND very slow. It comes with dials that adjust the top speed, much like shifting gears. Top speed of 10 mph.6. Great customer service. Had a piece missing and they answered the phone on the first try, and shipped the part the same day.7. Did I mention how (stand by for dated adjective) groovy it looks?Con's:1. It's a little pricey. But, as cool as it looks and as easy as it is to use and get in and out of, I think it's well worth the price.2. Its steering radius isn't quite tight enough. Not only couldn't you do a U-turn in a grocery isle or sidewalk, you can just barely do one on a narrow street!3. Its steering radius is too tight. (I know, I know. There's just no satisfying some people.) Go whipping down the street at 16 kph, and make a sharp turn. That's gotta be an asphalt face-plant.4. The brake-disengage lever is hard to see and flip. But you only do that once in a blue moon.
