Adequate value for the price, decent hat
The USMC issues boonie hats and utility covers. This is hat is based on the older Patrol Cap design that has been around since the Korean War (and recently re-authorized for the Army ACU). The material is a relatively cheap and thin fabric. Tight weave so it has decent strength. It has a water resistant coating which is good enough to discourage water even when directly applied from a faucet. The bill is plastic, very flimsy. It is not directly attached to the main body of the hat. The bill is "gansta" style, pretty much flat. Because of its design it can be shaped over a period of about two days. I used rubber bands and a coffee cup, then deliberate over bending to finish. The hat has no adjustment, no elastic. You have to make sure you size yourself before purchase. Use the US Military size chart to identify your size properly. The USMC and US Army both use the exact same chart. A 7 and 3/4 hat is considered XL.All in all a cheap but effective hat that emulates the Patrol Cap, but in Digital Woodland colors. The camo is not true MARPAT Woodland. The pattern and coloration is identical to other Rothco Ultraforce Digital Woodland boonies. It is almost identical to the Digital Woodland ACUs that Propper makes as well. The over all camo design is very close to actual MCCUU MARPAT Woodland. The green and brown colors are lighter on the Ultraforce cap. The light brown from the MARPAT design is completely absent. This hat is an ideal match to the Propper Digital Woodland ACUs (also available on Amazon) if you want to stick with US Army style uniforms and clothing while wearing Marine style camo.

Ranger Caps that Fit
I am a military veteran and very active in my American Legion Post. I recently found in a catalog some patches that pertained to the rather obscure unit in which served. I bought them and then needed something to display them. When I was in the Army, only those of us who were "Ranger" qualified were allowed to wear a hat of this shape. I bought one Rothco cap and was very unsatisfied as it seemed to be a "small" but with an adjustable band on the rear. It more or less sat on the front half of my head with the rear half exposed except for the strap. I decided to try to find something by someone other than Rothco, but then noticed some had sizes listed, instead of "one size fits all". I bought two more that fit well. They are at a seamstress right now and should be, ready patches and all, in a few days. All of the men in my community, and many of the ladies, wear baseball caps with various themes, I like being different.

Not So Great, Not 'Ultra Force'!!
"Meh" is about right. very flimsy material, only dyed on the outside; white inside. brim is flimsy, as well. they seem sized a bit large. does not state that it's Rothco's 'Ultra Force' line, on tag, nor anywhere (except in the description online). i have recently purchased Ultra Force BDU pants, in woodland digital camo. while the coloring and make-up of the camo DOES match the pants, does NOT match in quality. the pants are very sturdy material, and dyed all through; they're not white on the inside. i suggest you look at Rothco's '5647 Army Digital Camo Ranger Cap'. the fit is better, shape not quite as boxy. much nicer, heavier material. brim is VERY stiff, but curls with some work. has a pocket inside, top, for pics/maps/etc. i have not found the Ranger Cap in woodland digital, only ACU. i don't have the tag in front of me, but i believe this ranger cap is actually, REALLY from Rothco's Ultra Force line (which, as i say, this woodland camo fatigue hat is NOT!) Ranger Cap is MUCH nicer (2-ply) and, literally, only $1 more in price; also has free shipping. seriously, VERY flimsy...shop around; splurge and spend the extra $1 for the Ranger Cap.

This is a great hat. In fact its better than the Propper brand patrol caps, because it fits much better, and it holds the shape of the hat better. Definitely recommended. I wish they would come out with some more patterns for this hat. I would like to see the three color desert patter, or the six color desert pattern in this type of cap.

When in doubt, buy a size up.
I normally wear a 7 1/2 hat, but I bought the extra-large (which is marked as 7-3/4). It was a wise decision. This hat works and it fits, but it is kind of thin and flimsy. There is no lining as found in slightly more expensive versions of the same product. So just be aware that you are getting what you pay for and they run a little small.

Most 71/4 hats are perfect with a high and tight on me
Most 71/4 hats are perfect with a high and tight on me. This one is just a tad to big. I'll make it work cause a small will be just that , and vise Versa with a large. The overall construction is good. Seams are straight and the stitching is fairly laid out and no Hangers :) Rothco is utterly amazing at providing high quality products that we all want however just can't come up with a "car loan" to buy a complete set of uniforms. You can't go wrong with the name: Rothco

good lightweight hat
Looks good, fits well. It's not mil spec, but it's a comfortable lightweight hat. The brim has a plastic insert that sits pretty flat (as pictured) when the hat is off, when I put the hat on it causes the brim to curve more.

Sizes
Order 2 hats of the same size. They were labeled the same size. They 2 different diameters.
