Struggling readers often have trouble making inferences. This is a problem as strong reading comprehension relies on solid inferencing skills. The Inference Ace workbook takes your learner step-by-step through multiple types of inferences, building their skills so they become an inference ace! The inference worksheets are organized by inference type. Feel free to work from front to back or pick and choose to suit your learnerโs needs. Earlier problems for each inference category are multiple choice to give easier practice. Later problems require inferencing with no additional clues. Toward the end of the workbook, students practice making multiple inferences at once - just as skilled readers do. Keep in mind that some inferences require world knowledge that your learner may not have. Use these examples as opportunities to expand your learner's knowledge. The workbookโs step-by-step approach benefits students with challenges such as Autism and other learning differences, who often benefit from explicit, graduated instruction in building inferences. The visual design of our workbooks also considers the needs of struggling or unmotivated learners. Visual appeal is increased with the use of large fonts and lots of white space. Inferencing is vital for reading comprehension. So, if you have a struggling reader, grab this book to get your learner back on track. Review: Great, would recommend - A lot of the inference is on a simple level but very effective and a great book that gets you and your child thinking and for getting to grips with the context of inference which can be tricky for kids. Practised with my son and he found it funny as some of the other optional answers that were out of context were amusing...read it and you will see what I mean...great starting point...thankyou Review: Great practice for my 14 year old son with autism - It was too simple at the start but the rest was sufficiently challenging and therefore useful. I will investigate other books in this series.

Excellent for helping children with identifying inference which many children find difficult. Can be used in short, 5 minutes spurts which add up to meaningful learning

Disappointing
I found some of the expressions were vague and I had to figure them out before showing my daughter and I'm a Librarian! A few used American terminology and were completely lost on my daughter.

good skill workbook for kids who need the practice
I homeschool my middle school age son who has a disability. He can't infer very well from what he reads. I'm using this low workbook to help him with this skill. It is helping him with his inferencing.

Repetitive
Very repetitive, and my child got bored very easily, which made it even harder to convince them to practice the skill that is hard for them.

Good workbook
I liked the book, some of the answers on the back did not correspond to the correct pages but the books is good. Helped my son with autism understand more.

Good material
Very good material but if used with children with disabilities it needs to be tailored to individual needs.
