Not as bad as first thought
I would categories this as a "reclinable" chair, rather than a "recliner", since only the back reclines and then this has to be held in place using a screw-knob underneath, thus giving a friction-stay so the back can move, but not too easily (see the picture on Amazon). It is not possible to keep the back in a reclined position AND turn the knob at the same time, so you tighten the knob first and see how the backwards/forwards movement suits you. There was also some minor quality control issues in that there are THREE zipper heads on one zip without pull tags. I was told by the supplier, that this was to aid in the manufacture, but I feel the excess zipper heads could be removed before supply and the zip closed off with a tag, since the zip does not require to be un-done by the user. If I had seen this in a shop I would have given it more consideration before purchasing it.I give this chair three stars based on the fact that once you get the back in the position you want it and tighten the knob it is reasonably comfortable to sit in and has a bit of bounce to it (so my wife says). It does not give the feel of leather surrounding you but feels a bit on the PVC sideAssembly was reasonably easy, but again with a quality control issue in that the tube which the bolt goes through to hold the back in place was welded at a sight angle, making alignment of the spacer and bolt with the threaded hole difficult. After watching TV, for prolonged periods, it is okay on comfort for a couple of hours at a time.I will give my compliments to the supplier and the carrier, who delivered in good time and good order.UPDATE - 8/7/2014As previously stated the reclining back does not stay in position when getting out of the chair and requires to be inclined again when re-sitting down, this I am told, by the supplier is the way it is supposed to operateAMENDED 27/7/2014Please note my original review has been amended at this date after consultation with the supplier, who telephoned me to discuss the aspects of this chair and my previous review (maybe it was a little too harsh).

Emperor Leather Swivel Chair.
I was impressed first of all by a telephone call making sure I had ordered the correct chair seeing as I had ordered two chairs both different styles and colours. I was told when my new chair would be shipped out and when to expect delivery which was spot on. The box itself was in a tatty state with the bottom of the box actually open, but thankfully the chair was well protected and was in mint condition. Pouting the chair together was quite easy with two of us and took about 45 minutes from start to finish. This is a nice comfortable elegant chair that fits nicely into an unorthodox room, its perfect for watching TV, reading, or just watching the world go by. I would recommend this chair without hesitation, I don't give five stars easily, because I always think you should leave room for improvement, but here I do think they have achieved something very close and the price is amazingly good as well, having gone around almost every furniture shop in our local area, the price is very competitive. The colour we chose for this chair is cream.Bottom line a good all round chair nice colour, easy to put together, great price. go for it.Mart

New chair
Delvery was very prompt. A delivery slot of one hour was given and it arrived well within the hour. I really appreciate this as I have other things to do than wait for deliveries sometime during the day!Unpacking and assembly were straightforward with one excpetion. The back is attached to the base by two bolts, one either side that allow the back to recline. The first bolt (Right Hand (RH) side ) went in easily but the Left Hand side did not. (NB with furniture Left and Right are given when facing the item!). Under no circumstances should one force a bolt as this will just strip the thread. I telephoned the supplier for advice. He was very patient and we agreed that nothing was damaged as the bolt would screw directly into the back if it were not attached to the base. He suggested trying again and if I failed, sending a picture. I tried again but with the RH side undone and my wife supporting the back so that the LH side lined up with the base unit. Then the bolt went in. The RH bolt could now be inserted and after that everything was straightforward. The chair is well made but I think that the inserts for the back supporting bolts need to be aligned more precisely so that the bolts can be inserted more easily. I expect that I took longer than the 45 minutes that others have quoted, but I did make a phone call and have a tea break! The allen keys and spanner supplied were useful but I am glad that I had a ratchet socket set as that is much easier to use!The chair is comfortable and very suitable for viewing the TV or reading etc. I agree with others who have said how comfortable it is.

The chairs not only look good but deliver on comfort
I had previously purchased a cheaper version of this chair but in faux leather. You know the old story...you only get what you pay for. However these chairs were somewhat cheaper than other similar ones. The quality of the leather was great giving a soft soothing touch. Its only fair to say that I did have problems intitially with my purchase. I bought two chairs with footstools. They arrived promptly (within 2 days). When I attempted to assemble the chair to the recliner mechanism, it just did not match up. I spent a couple of hours trying to assemble these chairs but to no avail. I contacted ROB at the factory and explained my problem. This guy did not attempt to fob me off or refuse to answer calls. He rectified the problem by sending two complete new units. I admitt that I was patient with this purchase and could have sent it back butRob followed through on ALL his promises. When the new chairs arrived the seating part of the chair lined up perfectly and the chair was assembled within 45 mins. It only took two of us (mere women!!) no pun intended to our guys. Yes I would still recommend these chairs even after all my hic-ups.
