I originally bought a different set of frames but the metal wire frames were constantly collapsing on the ends tilting one way or the other, plus the frame height was too low to hold the hanging folders off the bottom of the file so the folders kept getting off their rails. So i ditched those and gave these a try. These work great, they are sturdy and the height keeps the folders from dragging on the bottom. (I did keep the solid rail from the old set of wire frames, I wasn't crazy about the hinged rail that was included plus my other rail was already fitted for my cabinet.) I am using this frame to hold legal size folders, very easy to adjust to legal size and way more sturdier than the previous wire frame extensions.

Sturdy enough for my purposes
This item is fairly sturdy, and will work just fine for the purpose I intend it for, which is to place several hanging files in a storage basket in my office to have them close at hand. It is quite large, so I had to snap off a lot of the length to make it fit where I wanted it, but it was very easy to do this and it ended up being just the right size.

Buy better design unless you want to draw blood
A good idea on paper that became a poor design. The heavy duty plastic support pieces are fine and easily adjustable from legal to letter. Expect to draw blood using a pliers to snap off the support bar ends to make them shorter. I finally put them in my vise and snapping the metal was much easier without bending the arm in the process. Then came the part where you put the support bar ends into the plastic supports. Tough and dangerous. Use a cloth on the opposite end to push them in and be sure they are in tight or the whole thing will fall apart on you. Will look for something else before buying another set of these.

Seems sturdy and works for my needs
I have an IKEA expedit bookcase (was discontinued but there is a new version called Kallax). I wanted to use a couple of the cubbies to store files so I got the boxes from IKEA that fit the cubbies exactly, the box is called drona. These fit perfectly in the drona boxes. I actually didn't even need to cut the sides, I just left it folded and inserted it in the front and back. If I want to use it for a longer drawer in the future I can. Seems sturdy enough!

18" is not 18"
Easy to put together and lightweight. Great that it will not rust or give splinters. I measured my cabinet carefully. I had 18 1/2" in depth so I was good. So I thought. I didn't realize that the plastic ends of the snap together take up room at both ends so I was about 1" short. Therefore, I could not bend at the 18" pre-cut mark on the metal strip. Since I don't have a hack saw at home, I was counting on that. Now I have to find tools to be able to finish the installation of them I bought four, so my whole project is in limbo. I think the description should advise to include instructions to provide leeway in taking measurements. Most people are replacing regular wire hangers which don't take any space at all, so the 18" depth is really 18", not 18" plus the additional inch or so required by the Pendaflex plastic ends. Bummer.

Product is horrible. It takes forever to adjust
Product is horrible. It takes forever to adjust, the metal frame bends in the process and it does not click into the plastic frame. It is not sturdy at all and the metal frame is angled so the files do no stay put. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

It is sturdy and can be made bigger to hold more papers
This worked perfectly in my classroom for filing the students work (which is usually on 9x12 pages of construction paper). It is sturdy and can be made bigger to hold more papers.
