Works well and doesn't overheat
This thing fit really well, never overheats (like when you drive 30 minutes, stop for gas and have the hard starts of an overheated starter) and sounds really cool when starting. I put this on my '72 Pontiac and will never look back.

Great starter
I had to replace an older version of this one in my 66GTO. Couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the old one yet…when it got below about 40 degrees it wouldn’t engage…just spin. Take about 10 tries then finally catch. Replaced it with this one and it works and sounds great. Much smaller and way better insulated that the stock starter. Plus WAY more torque. Definitely worth the money and I saved over buying it from Summit Raxing, and I live near their world HQ store.

This is why you buy from the Manf.
Powermaster is the brand EVERYONE uses when it comes to a high torque starter. They are relatively affordable and gives you so much added room to work, especially on a manual A-body car where room is at a premium on the drivers side with the Z bar, clutch linkage, battery cable, speedo cable, reverse lights wiring, brake lines, cross member and exhaust! It seems to fit my Lakewood bellhousing just fine too.However.....Mine did NOT come with the included shims and bolts, even the instruction sheet is missing! The box was beat up, has holes, but amazingly, the Amazon box was immaculate, so.... It was obviously mailed off damaged. There was NO padding in the Amazon box either! The mounting block on the starter was significantly dented on a corner, which I did fix with a file, but it was obviously dropped from a decent height. Who knows if this starter would even last after taking such a hit from being dropped. I planned on having this installed and shimmed today, but looks like I'll have to wait till next week for a replacement! Beyond angry.... This is obviously a returned starter that they didn't bother to make sure it had all the parts and just made it my problem. Now I'm going to be a week behind and won't make this weekends car show. Thanks alot....UPDATE: Amazon sent me a replacement and it had the appropriate parts this time. Installed with ease now that I had a ton more room. And man, does this thing spin my big block, high compression, flat tappet engine over with EASE! So wish I had done this sooner! My other classics will be getting one of these eventually!

Fantastic little starter.
Needed a smaller starter when I switched to ram air manifolds for the logs that were on it before. I did a lot of research and decided on this one. Very satisfied with the size and performance. The infinitely adjustable clocking is great and I did use it to fit perfect in the car. I highly recommend this starter for anyone needing one.

Power master starter
The starter works great. Be sure to follow the directions on checking clearances. I had to fabricate a thicker shim between the motor and housing to get the proper distance from the flex plate. It would be better for an additional shim to be included with the starter.

Starter
I’ve owned this product for several months now and I’m still pissed off about it. I own a 1970 olds cutlass currently with a 350 rocket motor.1.) This Starter has poor grounding issues even when there’s no paint between contacts - it still fails to ground out. I had to connect a 6 gauge wire to back of starter to motor & frame.2) It fails to give proper alignment with starter gear to fly wheel (flex plate). I spent over 13 hrs labor on different days - using all different combinations of shims provided & without and adding additional - and still this piece of shit can’t align correctly, grinds against fly wheel, stays stuck to fly wheel when engine starts.3) The two bracket bolts loosen by themselves even if you use lock washers. Today is 09/29/23 and I still have all these problems and called the manufacturer who try to make you feel like your the problem and not product.** Advice ** if you buy parts be sure to start installing test fit & other related work as soon as you receive your product, because when you have issues the time lapse prevents you from returning item. Don’t trust every product to be great. Now I have to practice my own modifications techniques to get this starter to function correctly for me. So I have go underneath my car today and waste more time dealing this starter.

Did not fit
My headers are too close to the block and this would not clock into a position to work correctly so I'm still looking for a starter that works.

Great starter!
Fit ok on my 65 GTO with Ram Air exhaust manifolds. The clocking feature gave me just enough room. Motor turns over quickly, the starter sounds cool, and no more heat soak.

It works great
I liked the infinite clocking, easy to install and started the car right up. Hopefully it will cure the heat sink problem
