A few quirks, but overall a fantastic device.
Well, here it is. This is my review of the FC-16 Go portable SNES system. Don't let the list of cons intimidate you, this really is a great machine that I enjoy very much. The cons are all relatively minor and some are even preferential - so don't let them scare you off. This is a pretty amazing product. It plays SNES games perfectly (all that I've tried) and does everything that it is advertised to do.Pros: -Plays every SNES game I have tried thus far flawlessly. No dead pixels on the screen, sound is perfect, not even anything wrong when it is hooked up to the TV. Not so much as one graphical error that I can find. -Wireless controllers are awesome. They far exceeded my expectations. I was expecting something cheap and crappy, but these feel great and are a really good addition to the system. A very nice touch by Yobo. -This device feels great in your hands. As it is a little on the big side, I was worried about how my hands would adjust to the device and its button layout. It actually works quite well and I don't feel like I'm straining at all to hit any of the buttons. I love the built-in controller even more than I love the wireless controllers, which is saying a lot. -The screen is really good. It's easy to read even the tiniest of text that any SNES game offers without any difficulty whatsoever. In fact, the one time I did have a question, I connected the system to the TV and I still couldn't read it - so it was the game's fault, not the FC-16 Go's. -The speakers can get ridiculously loud. Seriously, don't accidentally leave this thing on high volume on Sunday morning when you accidentally flip the "On" switch in the middle of a sermon. The preacher may have to stop so he can get his Mario on. -Very well made. This thing does NOT feel cheap at all. If you're worried about it being a chintzy little thing, DON'T BE! The dust cover is great, the outside is snazzy and the inside gets the job done, all while being a very sturdy device. -Friends = super jealous. EVERYONE loved the SNES....All of my friends, even the ones that aren't nerdy, envy this beautiful machine. Great item to show off if that's your thing. =PAs much as I hate to admit it, there are actually a few flaws to this device. I'm sure Yobo could eliminate them in a version 3, but for now they stand as the few minor errors that give this a 1 star penalty in my book:Cons:-Battery life. This is the biggest disappointment to me, as the battery only lasts for 2 - 3 hours. Luckily it is a rechargeable and you are able to purchase extra batteries (with more battery life) for as cheap as $13 from StoneAgeGamer. -I do have trouble connecting the wireless controllers from time to time. This is not a big deal, but sometimes instead of just pressing a button and jumping into the action I have to hold the START + SELECT buttons down on both the device and the controller until it connects. This takes a maximum of about 20 seconds though, so not a big complaint. -There is an annoying switch on the right side of the device. I don't notice it often, but when I do finally realize that it's there it really pisses me off. It scratches just enough at my right hand to itch, and it also scares me into thinking that I'm accidentally going to turn off the device. -The volume does NOT turn all the way down. This is not a big deal for me, but some people may want to know that the volume can never equal zero. -Included written materials have terrible English translations. I actually thought about including this in the "pros" list because it's so darn funny, but I doubt it was intentional and it probably shouldn't receive any extra stars just for being created using Google Translate. (Many words are even misspelled - probably due to careless typing. Ex: "slowky" instead of "slowly" and "cartige" instead of "cartridge." -The screen isn't perfect. It is a bit fuzzy, and DO NOT try to mess with the cartridge while playing....The screen will probably go black and you'll have to reset the game. Along with being fuzzy it is also relatively small. It is large enough to get the job done, but with such a HUGE case you'd figure the screen could be bigger. -This thing is massive. You are not going to be able to fit this in your pocket (the fact that the cartridge sticks so far out probably tipped you off to that anyway - but now you've been officially warned). Personally, I carry mine in a small cooler along with my old WoW boxes stuffed with SNES games. A netbook case also works quite well to carry this behemoth in.

I would give this 0 stars if I could
This device doesn't work - won't load most games and the one we could get to load won't actually play anything. The buttons don't work. (We looked up the instructions for the game online and that is how we figured out the buttons don't work.) Complete waste of money because I got the run around to try and return this as defective. So completely buyer beware - you won't get your money back and now you have a paperweight (and in my case a heartbroken kid).

almost there
I'll keep it simplePROS - Compatible with every game i tried. street fighter 2, act raiser, world heros, pilot wings, f-zero megaman x, star wars, mortal kombat, u.n squadron, gradius 3, r type, castlevania 4, star fox. Solid design feels good in your hand. The addition of wireless controllers plus the ability to hook it up to the tv makes and outstanding package.CONS - The D-pad is pratically worthless which cuts the value of a portable snes in half. Screen seems a bit washed out also i had one dead pixel. If yobo perfects the D-pad and steps up the screen it will be the perfect clone platform.!!UPDATE!!After two days of use i have to say if you wanting a portable on the go SNES do not by this. The D-pad isuseless it's almost impossiable to control any of the above mentioned games. If YOBO were to use the sameD-pad it uses in the wireless controller it would be a perfect on the go SNES.

Mine just died
Alright; It came in with a green dead pixel; You can't turn the volume all the way down so do not try playing when on the bus; It will sound like **** through headphones, literally; the power on switch is at the wrong place and works weird (read other reviews); I lost my game while playing Final Fantasy II (4) but that could also be the cartridge; the battery only lasts for 2-3 hours; now on top of all that the console just died while I was playing... It won't go on, I have two useless wireless controllers now. I had been playing for 3-4 hours straight plugged with the TV output. Bought the thing at the end of June, we are in August...So, I must say I loved this gadget at first, especially for the wireless controllers, but I am really pissed now and I am going to get my real SNES out of the closet to finish my FF game. I would not recommend buying this. I hope a functional SNES with wireless controllers will hit the market soon.I also want to add that after playing Contra 3 on my real snes now I realize that the graphics of the fc 16 go were simply the lowest quality; some bosses in the game are even missing their final layer, I did not realize that since I had not played the game on the original snes for a while!

Fun, but...
It's a dream come true! Now you can play your SNES games on the go! While I was, indeed impressed with this nifty little gadget, I was disappointed when mine came in with a broken pixel and an unresponsive D-Pad on the handheld itself (the controllers worked fine). I also found that it would not play Super Mario RPG (though it may just be my copy). I'm sure if it was in good working order, I would positively love it, but alas, mine was not. Luckily, the product does come with a warranty. Purchase with caution.

It's okay
The cover for the cartridge slot breaks easy and it's pretty big for a portable console. If you really need a portable snes than buy it. If not get a psp.
