This was a big success with my mother in-law. She normally has her TV on full volume. With this device installed (very easily) she is able to have the wireless speaker right beside her armchair. The sound is extremely clear on the normal setting, though it also has a tone setting optimised for speech. The volume has thankfully come down to a much more sensible level and my ears have stopped bleeding. She’s very non technical, so the simple single rotary volume/power knob is ideal. The base station has to be powered by a mains power supply, but the speaker unit is rechargeable if you place it on the base when not in use. However, to avoid having to recharge, a second power supply is provided for the speaker unit. It is advised to remove the lithium battery pack if this is the chosen setup. The speaker unit is light and easily portable, the size and shape of a small handbag. A simple stethoscope style headset is also supplied, which works fine, but sort of defeats the object of the wireless speaker. There are several possible connection options at the TV end. All necessary leads are included. A comprehensive manual is also supplied, which I studied AFTER quickly setting up 😀

I must say I was sceptical about this device from an unknown brand, but wow. With an elderly father come to live with us, day one was spent with the TV in his room blaring round the entire house so something had to be done. Ordered this device and my goodness it works well. No apps, complex menus (except possibly on your TV), no signing up for an account online. Just a large knob on the front that turns it on and adjusts volume. Perfect for seniors. And the sound quality is frankly remarkable. My father who is completely deaf in one ear and with poor hearing in his second can hear the TV perfectly at normal volumes. Domestic harmony restored. Very well-worth the price.

Brilliant! We can hear the dialogue a lot more easily. Straightforward set up, quite simple. I understand this is portable but haven't used it that was yet and it has a second charger to facilitate this so it doesn't run out of charge away from the transmitter/dock. I only wish it had a remote control as where we keep ours is out of arm's reach. Quite attractive, not at all ugly.

With this product you get both speakers and headphone as alternative ways of listening to an enhanced quality sound. And you can connect it to many different souces, not only a TV, but many other devices, as it comes with a variety of connecting cables. I am extremely happy to have bought this speaker. Sound is very clear and we finally can watch TV and understand the dialogues. Music and other sounds are usually so much louder than the dialogues, that not even increasing the TV volume is enough to catch what people are saying. Also, I am amazed at how much technology expertise, sense and care have been put into this device. The design is so versatile ! It includes a very light headphone (you don't need to use it you don't want to) + 2 detachable pieces : the base and the speaker. The base is what you connect to the TV (or any other device you would like to listen to, provided that device has one of the compatible sound outputs). You connect the base to the TV with one the several cables provided (you choose the cable depending on the output on your TV you decide to connect it) As for the speaker, you can place it onto the base and keep the whole near your TV. The energy needed by the speaker will then be provided by the base. But you usually don't do that and you take the speaker with you (it has a practical handle on the top of it) so you can listen to it near you. In this last case, the speaker has its own charger if you want to connect it to the mains. When you want to charge the speaker, you can choose between placing it onto the base or connect it to the mains with its own separate charger. Additionally, in case you want to use the speaker on its own and it happens to be discharged, the product has been designed to have a spare battery placed inside the speaker. This spare battery is charged whenever you charge the speaker. The spare battery is therefore always ready so you can continue to use a discharged speaker without connecting it to the mains. As if this wasn't enough, the speaker has a sound output 3.5mm jack for connecting any headphone (one light underchin headphone is in fact provided with the product) so you get use the clear sound obtained by the speaker but listen to it through a headphone and therefore not disturbing other people. If you connect a 3.5mm jack splitter you could connect additional headphones and share the sound with someone else. So much care and thought put into the design (let alone the technical quality of the sound, which really improves the understandability of the dialogues) is accompanied with similar care in the presentation of the product. There is an unmistakeable effort to help the user to succesfully put the product into use, like the small caps that cover the endings of optical cable : they are attached to the cable to avoid the possibility of not removing them before use (they are transparent) but also prevents them to get lost as they remain attached and reusable. I confess I admire the hard work behind this product, as well as I have been gladly surprised by the sound it provides.

Having become increasingly frustrated by mumbled dialogue on tv I've tried using my hearing aids and also Apple airpods 2 but neither really helped to alleviate the problem and I was reduced to turning up the volume and using sub-titles, where available. And then I came across the marvelous Simolio box of tricks that somehow manages to clean up mumbled whispered dialogue and now all is well, especially when viewing with my better half. A simple optical connection is made to the back of the tv and, when the base automatically pairs with the speaker unit, you're off and running. Now I have crystal clear sound with no need for sub-titles and I couldn't be happier.

Bought this for my elderly mother. Product is defective: the signal keeps dropping and I need to re-pair the base and receiver every time. So wanted to return -- but went to the drop off location only to be told the seller requires you to go to some central location. Called Amazon customer service and they resolved the issue efficiently.

This type of device has been around for years and I've had 2 brands bookmarked for ages in preparation for my old father finally accepting his hearing loss and needing assistance. I picked Simolio based on Amazon reviews and regret not getting this sooner, as it also helps myself watch movies without headphones while keeping the sound within a personal range. It comes with 2 power adapters so you can detach the speaker from the base but still keep it powered indefinitely and an optical cable (plus the common ones) which will provide the best audio connection with most TVs today. The only minor downside is that we'd prefer to leave the speaker on permanantly but upon switching off the TV the speaker will soon go into standby and requires turning fully off and back on before you hear "TV mode" and the audio connection is restored. Other than that - it's an excellent solution and sound is very clear and the overall build quality seems decent. It's not just for the hard of hearing but for those want to hear film and TV dialogue but find current content and TV speakers to be muffled and flat; or it sounds like everyone is mumbling.

The LG TV I use this on was replaced by a Sony Bravia in my lounge which has fantastic sound that has an option to bring out speech, but very costly. Even moved to a smaller room the speech on the LG was still overcome by "background" music or just actors mumbling. I paid £350 for a soundbar plus £40 for an optical cable which was a waste of money. For £102 the Simolio would have saved me a fortune if I had found it earlier. The instructions are very in depth but basically just plug the base into the back of the tv ( used the optical one) and the speaker into a socket, leave 3 hours to charge. (go shopping) I checked the settings recommended on the TV but it had auto set them. Then just pick a programme turn it on and listen. WOW! It works with my Fire stick and Freeview. I have some older tvs in other rooms so on the to do list is to use the other 2 cables on them and see if I can just move the base and speaker to wherever I need to use it. The speaker sits on the base and can recharge on it too but I usually have it closer to me, even when its not on charger it lasts ...well not sure as it has never run out and I only put it on charge when I remember. If I have it on too loud for my partner I just use the headphones which are even better sound. It has everything included for every eventuality. I JUST LOVE IT!!! Thank you Simolio. The reason I gave only 4 stars for volume control is that if you change channels you sometimes have to turn it off and on again... can I give 4.9 stars?. Apart from that I have never had to turn the volume up anywhere near max. so no biggie really. Now I can watch without subtitles and laugh in the face of movie makers who try to drown out speech with loud music.

Utilisation ultra simple, son clair ( 3 réglages - aigu, équilibré et grave) et puissant si nécessaire (réglage directement sur l'enceinte avec un unique gros bouton en façade). Légère, bonne autonomie, possibilité de brancher un casque dessus (fourni). Toute la connectique est fournie et aussi un 2ème chargeur pour alimenter/recharger directement l'enceinte sans passer par son support (déporté car branché sur la télé). Je recommande ce produit sans hésitation. Je veux aussi signaler que le service clients Simolio est top ! Joignable facilement, cordiaux, ils répondent aux messages rapidement et font tout leur possible pour satisfaire leurs clients. J'ai du les contacter une 1ère fois en février 2023 pour un problème de batterie, et ils m'en ont envoyé une très rapidement sans aucune difficulté. Ma 2ème requête ce mois ci car l'enceinte était en panne (selon les informations de ma mère et ne pouvait plus s'en servir). Par prévention et avoir une batterie au cas où, ils m'en ont envoyé une autre tout aussi rapidement que la 1ère fois. Finalement le soucis venait du câble audio entre l'embase et la télévision. En conclusion, Service Clients exemplaire que l'on aimerait retrouver chez tous les vendeurs !!!

I bought one Simolio speaker for my husband who watches television in one room and I watch in another. He has been very happy with the speaker and I’ve been shocked at how well it works. The sound in surprisingly good and it was very easy to hook up. In fact, this little speaker works so well I bought one for myself! The price is fantastic and I am buying a few for Christmas gifts this year.

Bought this for a senior who is having trouble hearing the television and distinguishing the sound from ambient noises. The product seems well designed and well constructed and works as it should. Set up instructions are clear and easy to follow. All the cables that I would have needed for the various types of connections were in the box. We're using the headphones plugged into the speaker so I set it up with both the transmitter and receiver plugged in instead of using the rechargeable speaker option. That way the speaker can remain in place beside the users usual chair and be easily accessible. Again all cables are provided for this setup. The only negative with systems like this is using the headphones with hearing aids. A light over the ear headset seems to work better than ear buds or the stethoscope style that seems to be used with most systems. This product is more expensive that other options but worth it for us, because of the flexibility it provides. It can accept any type of headphones so we have experimented to find out what works best. You can also skip the head phones all together and just have the speaker beside the user. Even with this option the sound seems clearer than the room filling sound that comes from the television.

Der Simolio Funklautsprecher kam schnell, gut und sicher verpackt bei uns an. Er steht nun in ca 4mtr Entfernung vom TV vor uns auf dem Tisch und tut genau das, was er soll. Den TV-Ton störungsfrei zu transportieren. Obwohl das Gehäuse aus Plastik ist, hat er LS einen recht angenehmen Klang, den man hinten am Regler noch in jeweils 1 Stufe höher oder niedriger zur Standardeinstellung verändern kann. Dadurch kommt der Ton, auch durch die Nähe zum Zuhörer, deutlich klarer zum Ohr, als über die Distanz vom TV. Nuscheltöne aus dem TV bleiben zwar Nuscheltöne, aber unsere fragenden Blicke zum Tischnachbar, ob er/sie verstanden habe, was da gerade im TV gesagt wurde, haben sich merklich reduziert. Wir möchten den kleinen Helfer nicht mehr missen.
