Perfect popcorn in 2 minutes, no oil.
I bought this for a gaming party and was prepared to be underwhelmed, but actually this is really great! You put a scoop of kernels in the top of the machine (scoop is included), pop the scoop on top to act as a lid, then switch it on. No oil. 2 minures later - you have a mixing bowl full of perfect warm crunchy popcorn popping out of the spout. Hardly any kernels are left unpopped.A few go outside of the bowl, not many, but I just covered the bowl back with a teatowel. It's about as noisy as a hairdryer, but it's only on for 2 minutes. The pops are louder than the motor. You then wipe the appliance down. DONE!

Great Popcorn Maker
This is brilliant! A few kernels can shoot out but generally only a few donโt pop.Iโve tried other types of machine - this is so easy to use and healthier than most

I am pleased
It was smaller and lighter that expected about the same size as a blender when mounted on the stand which is a good thing for me as it takes up little space. Included is scoup that fits at the top of the plastic hood, which measures just the right amount.Using the corn provided, which looks like regular popcorn, I found it makes good, fresh, fully poped, popcorn , about a Regular size portion at a go in about 3mins or less. No oil needed instead its swirling hot air.I live on my own so that portion size is suitable for me. I have not yet tried it when friends come round. But it takes less than 30secs to cool down till its ready to go again.Almost all of the popcorn popped and those that did not i reused and it came out fine.I measured, poured in the popcorn and fitted the hood before i switched on the machine.I read the other reviews before purchasing so i knew there was an issue with the popped popcorn flying out.To overcome this i used a large sheet of foil to creat a larger "hood" at the front, bridging the gap from machine to bowl. I used the scoop at the top to anchor the foil, press down a bit to ensure the foil is secure. Also I was sure to keep the foil loose around the machine to avoid over heating. It worked a treat 99% stayed in the bowl as opposed to the 60-70% otherwise. (this is why i gave it 4stars)The machine does get noisy and hot but that is what i expected. The on off switch is at the bottom back and as far as i have found you have to turn it off youself, there is not automatic switch off when its finish poping. So i just switch it off when there is no more poping going on - whcih as i mentioned above is around 3 mins or less.No real cleaning i just tip it over the sink when cool to get rid of any loose kernels peices.Hope this helps.

A decent little popcorn maker.
It's a good little popcorn maker and good value for money. It's easy to use, and quick too. I love popcorn and the fact it doesn't need any oil to pop it , means it is I could have a healthy snack if I wanted. The machine is easy to clean afterwards with a damp cloth . I don't use the scoop to melt butter as the corn is popping, as when I tried it, it was still not fully melted by the time the corn had all popped. It's easier for me to melt it in a pan beforehand. It also means that I can mix whatever flavours I want to add to my popcorn in the pan too. My son like his mixed with parmesan and garlic salt, or with cumin, chilli and garlic salt, whereas my husband likes his sweet, and I like mine sweet and salty. You do get the odd bit of popcorn that flies out and misses the bowl that I have to catch it, but I have a dog that has discovered a great game of trying to catch the stray bits as it flies out, so he's a happy boy .

A bit dangerous with hot unpopped corns flying out
The design is nice and it looks good in the black. It heats up quickly but it is a quite noisy. There is the semi-circular funnel design where the popcorn comes out. However as it is a large area the popped and unpopped corns seem to fire out at the sides. Some manage to make it into the cardboard box and others just fly out at different angles. What I didnt expect is how hot the unpopped corns would be, as one flew and hit me on the arm. It was hot enough to cause a blister so I stopped using it after that. I still have a small scar now. If you have children keep them well away.I contacted the company who didnt acknowledge what I said about the burn but offered a standard refund . I tried to explain to them it's a bit dangerous with the unpopped corns flying out but I was just told it's a popular product. Not sure they even read customer reviews. If they tweaked the funnel design so it was narrower and funnelled down it would work much better. Tbh seems like some of the American ones have this design which is much safer.

Extremely messy
The machine works well, as in it pops the kernels perfectly and quickly, but it's so messy that I had to return it. No matter how big your bowl, or how much effort you put into catching it, the popcorn will go everywhere, and I got sick of cleaning it up. I've gone back to using a simple microwave bowl, which works 90% as well, without the mess.
