MTD 748-0377E Blade Adapter

I have bought a couple of these since I moved onto the rock pile where I now live. My neighbors all know when I am mowing. They can tell because they hear the rock crushing start. Yes, I have a 21 inch manual rock crusher which I use on my property to keep the weeds down. I think my two dogs tossed them all over the place, hiding them in the "Grass" along with some sticks just to amuse themselves. That explains why they always run and hide when I crank the mower up. I can see them under the storage shed giggling like the old Mugsy cartoon. As you can tell, I am pretty hard on my mower. I am grateful that these adapters are the sacrificial component of my mowers drive train and that I have not yet experienced a broken or bent mower shaft from all my rock throwing adventures. They are easy to install and fit my frequent new blades just right every time. I usually change them whenever my mower starts vibrating like a soil compactor.Seriously though, I like these adapters and they have probably saved me from serious mower damage more than once.The price is reasonable and even with my abuse they hold up quite well. It takes a pretty good hit to break one. I have been crushing stone in this yard now for nearly 15 years and have only replaced three so far. Not bad if you saw what I have to mow around.They also come with a new bolt in case yours gets tossed off with that last big chunk of rock somewhere. :)

Ease of installation, strong product.

I am furious to find out that this Prime item is not eligible for return! I put this on my mower today and mowed a 15x5 area and this thing cracked in half! I didn’t hit anything or have anything unusual, I was just mowing along and a chunk of this piece spit out from under the mower. They make it look like it’s eligible for return, but when you click on the part that says “eligible for return” it says it’s not. This was an absolute waste and now I have to wait for another part to come so I can mow my grass, again, because it also was slow to ship.

This fit perfectly, and works well. I would recommend it to anyone that needed this type of blade adapter. The price is very reasonable.

Not all blade adapters are equal, even if they say "Bolens" on the package. After the original blade adapter broke, I went to my local home improvement store to get a replacement. I was assured by the sales person that the one I picked up was what I needed, however, much to my surprise when I went to put it on, it was noticeably shorter. I thought "No problem, I'll just lower the deck." Unfortunately, even at the lowest setting, the grass wouldn't cut short enough (that is, when I could actually push the mower when the desk wasn't scraping on the ground).On a lark, i decided to try this one because it seems to be longer than the "replacement" I got. It came, I put it on and it was just like it originally was.I can't speak for other brands, but if you are looking to replace a blade adapter for a Bolens mower, make sure you are getting on that is the PROPER size.

Did not fit my application and returned it. When searching part number it says this is a replacement for min but was wrong size. Measure your shaft diameter even if Amazon says it’s a direct replacement. Part appears to be fairly solid, although other reviews show photos of it having split during installation.

Got my old lawnmower going again. Size was exactly as advertised.

Helped it lower blade to mow the grass! Works great!!
