Men's 608 V5 Casual Comfort Cross Trainer

I buy this same model over and over. Its not the best shoe in the world like the $180 or $300 tiers but for $60 this pair is very very good. Decent balance of looks, comfort, and price. I'd say its a value sneaker and that's why I love it. When they get old and dirty they turn into my yard shoes and they hold up super well!

I wear only New Balance Extra Wide shoes. The explanation is neither mysterious nor flattering: I carry more weight than I ought to, and my feet insist on reminding me. These provide the width I need along with an arch that actually supports rather than merely decorates the insole. In a marketplace increasingly devoted to fashion masquerading as function, that is no small achievement. I generally buy the 608 V5 cross trainers because they consistently have the best availability in Extra Wide. That alone earns them a place near the top of my shopping list. They also come in enough colors to satisfy whatever mood strikes you. I've accumulated black, white, brown, blue, and now gunmetal. Evidently, when I find something that works, I become a predictable voter. The shoes are comfortable from the first day, supportive during long walks, and forgiving during those moments when the bathroom scale reminds me that arithmetic is undefeated. They have become my everyday footwear, accompanying me through errands, appointments, and the ordinary business of retirement. No product is without its legislative amendments. Occasionally the shoelaces seem unnecessarily thick or comically long, as though drafted by a committee unable to agree when to stop. It's hardly a constitutional crisis, but every so often I find myself wondering whether someone at New Balance has a side business selling extra lace. Because these are my primary shoes—and because I place a bit more stress on them than their designers probably envisioned—they're generally ready for retirement after about six months. I don't regard that as a defect so much as the inevitable consequence of constant use and a user who could stand to lose a few pounds. Institutions endure because they reliably perform their intended function. The same may be said of these shoes. They are not flashy, they make no extravagant promises, and they will not transform your life. They simply fit well, support properly, and perform their duty day after day. In an era of exaggerated marketing claims, there is something refreshingly conservative about a product that succeeds by quietly doing exactly what it was designed to do. Five stars.

Excellent shoes for work and everyday wear. They are very comfortable right from day one—not stiff at all. The sizing is spot-on; just order your usual size. They offer good support and cushioning, so you can wear them all day without your feet getting tired. The New Balance quality really shows; the materials are excellent. I recommend them 100%.

Pretty good so far. Key point: Don’t order up. Plenty of size in these shoes, and the X wide is working for My Hawaiian feet. I got these for power walking and compared to walking in slippers ( My usual) they’ve really upped My game, enabling me to do a 10 min 34 sec. Split time on a 2 mile walk yesterday. Not bad at nearly 64 yrs old. I also ordered a couple pair of Sketchers. Here’s how they compare. The NB is way more substantial, with a harder, no doubt more durable rubber sole, while the Sketchers have a much more soft, almost a foam sole. NB has much more support and stabilization, but is not quite as comfortable out of the box as the NB. Some of the new balance shoes have an awkward slip on/lacing system. That is very difficult to get snug.. The NB is lighter due to the flimsier foam soles. Don’t skimp on the width. These tend to run narrow even the extra wide isn’t quite wide enough on one of the models I got. Verdict: if you’re simply doing casual walking, perhaps the new balance might fit your needs, but if you’re going to be putting in the miles, like I do at break next speed, you’d probably do better to stick with the new balance.

You get great arch support. Wide width that are true width. Your feet will love these sneakers. Comfortable. Great value. Good quality that will last.

I have been in the restaurant business since I was 14. Going from converse to basic non slips from Skechers and work croc looking things. These shoes are next level. No more tip toeing around the kitchen and no squeezing my feet in the cheapest shoes I can find. Haven’t even replaced the souls yet and already feeling less soreness in my lower back and knees. Especially since 13 Wides always costing over 100 dollars these are best bang for your buck. Amazing upgrade. Easy to glide into once you tie them up for the first time. Great material. Super light. Most def recommend.

I really love these Skechers shoes! They are very comfortable, lightweight, and perfect for everyday wear. They fit well, provide great support, and are easy to walk in for long periods of time. The quality is excellent, and they look even better in person. I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend them!

I have had new balance shoes over the years, but, due to recent years time spent in sandals and barefoot, this is the first time I have ordered the shoes in Wide. I am now enjoying a pair of shoes that fit perfectly. The quality, look, and now the feel could not be better. And they are lightweight. They will be my favorite walking shoes. So if you are at the point where you’re trying to decide if you need a wider shoe or if a designation of “Wide” really means wide, then this choice of shoe in W should not disappoint you. .

Good value and comfortable

I only have one small issue with these shoes, that being the loop on the heel is too small to even get the tip of my finger through it. Ultimately that is negligible, these sneakers are extremely comfortable and supportive, very happy with them

Bought these for my 13 year old daughter for school. She saw a podiatrist recently and he said she must wear a running-style trainer with heal lift and with an orthotic, due to hypermobility and over-pronation. He suggested New Balance was a good brand for technical design and support and ruled out many other popular brands. I hunted high and low for a plain black leather pair so she can wear them for school (school policy states no trainers but this is medical so I tried to comply with at least the black leather and no logo policy). I sent the link to the podiatrist and he said they were a good design. She's very happy with them. They have a wide heel on the sole and at the ball of the foot so provide good stability. They don't come up too high at the ankle bone so they don't rub there, but still deep enough to fit around the heel even with an orthotic and provide good heel/ankle support. The insert is removable. Sensible length laces (not ridiculously long like you get with some trainers). Good value too. The other brand/pair the podiatrist recommended was over twice the price so another reason to be very pleased with these!
