Ty Pablo - Backyardigans

My DD is just in love with The Backyardigans and Pablo is her favorite. I ordered this for her birthday in a few weeks so she has not seen it yet. I'm sure it will be love at first sight. I was surprised at how stuffed Pablo is. I was expecting to be more "beanie" than stuffing. His head is very firm and his bottom has the typical beans but is still firm. Pablo sits very well because of how he is stuffed, which is a plus for when he attends picnics my daughter hosts on the living room floor! :) I do think he will hold his shape better because of the stuffing but he is not as cuddly as I had anticipated. Again, I really don't think my two year old is going to notice.

I bought Pablo & Austin beanie babies at a baby & children's show in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada & at the time was told they were limited edition. My neice was and still is, an even bigger fan than my daughter so I was kind of surprised that my sister in law didn't get at least one character for her. Especially because everytime they come over now, my neice makes a bee-line for my daughter's room to get these 2 dolls then doesn't put them down until they leave and then she cries because she can't take them home!So, because my niece loves them so much thought I'd do and internet search to see what I could find and was delighted that I found it and for such a great price! Shipping to Canada would've cost more than the doll but we were planning a shopping trip to the states and had it delivered to our hotel which kept shipping costs down.I would recommend to any parents of children who adore backyardigans. BUT, just so you know, I ended up finding it in a Barnes & Noble store for $6.99 - (with shipping it cost me closer to $10)

I bought Tasha and Austin from another seller and they were pretty cute and decent size but unfortunately this ones are much more smaller!!! and the colors aren't as bright as they look in the pictures. My 3 year old daughter fell in love with the Backyardigans. They all have such great personalities. Pablo is the excitable daredevil. These Ty mid-sized plushies are perfect. They are well crafted depictions - this really looks like Pablo. It's really soft and cuddly - yet is tough and holds its shape. The stitiching is solid - no blown seams. It's exactly the right size too - just right for cuddlying and carrying along (or tucking into the day bag). This one's a winner.

I was trying to get my daughter more interested in the Backyardigans becausde I think they're adorable and not as annoying as her favorite, Barney. I bought the other characters in a store, but they didn't have Pablo, so I ordered it and she loves it! She gets them all and lines them up for us to play with when I turn the show on. They're just the right size for her. They may be a little small for older children. Since we got them she has started asking to watch the "'agains"!

"Backyardigans" is the only TV show my 2 year-old daughter is allowed to watch. We bought her all 5 characters and she plays with them everyday - takes them to bed, feeds them, sits them all together on the couch with her, etc. I am not sure how much educational value this provides other than recognizing this toy as a penguin, but she sure has tons of fun with it!

I absolutely adore the Backyardigans and wish they did more with the show. It is hard to find toys and nice things for this series. My daughter played with these for many years.
