A Light Bulb Symphony: Poems by Phil Kaye

Love his work.

This is a beautiful book of poems by one of my favorite poets. I've been watching his videos on youtube for years and bought this book at his show a couple years ago. I was kicking myself for not buying extra copies to give as gifts. I'm so glad I can buy it on here now!Kaye writes with such clarity, accessible enough for anyone to read but impactful enough that you'll return to it often and find something new every time. A must read!

Make no mistake, Phil Kaye isn't "the next rupi kaur", this isn't a highly curated book of instagrammable pages. This is poetry. The sort of poetry you can read in Kaye's voice even if you've only watched a couple of his spoken word videos (I recommend). As soon as your eyes hit the page the words leap off it in a picture-book manner to tell the story for you, building worlds and telling tales without an ounce of hesitation. This book is magical, it makes you believe that poetry really is eternity.
