Fantastic Watch, but Not Bright-ish Blue Face
This watch is beautiful, functional and works great. I would definitely recommend it. The only part that I would agree with the other detractors / commenters on is the fact that the background is a much darker blue that is depicted in the graphic. As per the attached image: (1) was taken indoors with incandescent light bulb. Looks dark, almost grey. (2) Taken indoors with flash, which brings out the blue. (3) Taken outdoors in the sunlight, which does show some blue, but still darker. So, just don't expect it to look so bright a blue as in the graphic in all situations. It will look darker in lower-light situations. Otherwise, it is all that I'd hoped it to be.

Fantastic watch with some truth (and fiction) to the reviews...
I read most of the reviews on this watch before buying and although I've only had it for a week, I felt compelled to write a review right away and will try to followup with an update after I've had it for awhile. This is a phenomenal watch, very light, looks great and is very elegant/simple. I will just list what I found in the reviews and confirm or comment on them below.1. Dial face is not as blue as pictured. This is correct. Whomever photoshopped that pic to be a lighter blue did not do themselves (or anyone else) selling or buying this watch any favors. If you go to Citizens own website and look up this model, their photo is a much better representation of the dial color. Although I would appreciate having the brighter blue face, it's a deep blue that actually looks great but certainly doesn't pop as much as the photo would show. The waffle pattern of the solar gathering face adds a nice contrast and pattern to the surrounding indicators. My hunch is that since this recharges via solar light there is a simple explanation for the deeper color, dark colors absorb light and lighter colors reflect them (along with the associated heat), so I would guess that most of the Citizen EcoDrive watches have darker faces to absorb as much of the available light as possible for just this reason, although I have not researched this beyond posting it. I don't believe this watch was ever made in the lighter color shown, at least not that I could find.2. The watch is heavy for being titanium.Non-sense. This watch is feather light on the wrist, you can barely tell it's there, especially for having a metal band (which is also titanium). There were also comments about the titanium and its finish scratching easily, although I haven't had it long enough to verify, I haven't seen anything so far to indicate it will do so anymore or less than other metal watches.3. The anti reflective sapphire crystal has a lot of glare.Partially true. I don't know what anti glare treatment has been done here, but it doesn't have anymore, or less, glare than other sapphire or mineral crystals I've worn. It's very clear and won't scratch, if you haven't already, don't ever buy another watch without a sapphire crystal unless it's for junk/throw away, they are far more durable than mineral or the like and hold up well.4. The date window is too small and hard to read.I suppose this depends on the persons eye sight but I'm going to say non-sense, it's not large by any stretch but if you can't read this you will likely have problems with most other watch date windows as well. I think part of the problem here is that the window is on the smaller side of average and the number sits a little deeper than some which probably contributes to shadowing depending on the angle of view and how you're looking a it. Works plenty fine for me and I've got average eye sight.5. The band is proprietary to Citizen and can't be replaced after ten years.Although this is likely true it's a bit of a red herring to look out ten years and try to forecast if the watch band will be broken and wether Citizen will be able to repair it or not in that eventuality. This is not a thousand plus dollar watch and although I'd love for it to still be working 20 years from now, worrying about such a thing for a sub $200 watch is a waste of your valuable time.6. The second hands don't line up with the dial indicators.Non-sense. The reviewer who stated that either has a defective watch or isn't compensating for the different angles the hands are viewed at while it sweeps the face, this is a non-issue, lined up nicely, obviously if it's not on yours return it or have Citizen repair under warranty.7. The indicators and dials don't glow very brightly or for very long.Non-sense. It glows blue after being exposed to light, but remember blue is not as bright to the human eye as green so it will appear slightly softer if not dimmer. I held it up to a 40 watt LED bulb on my night stand for a minute, set it on the dresser and then went to bed, 7 hours later I woke up while it was still dark and could see it glowing clearly 10 ft away, albeit a dimmer than I had left it the night prior.Bottom line, this is an excellent watch that has all the desirable features; EcoDrive charging (no batteries needed), Titanium case and band (super light), sapphire crystal (will not scratch), water resistant (for all but scuba diving), uncluttered face with only a date window. Watch case is 43 mm's wide (47 including crown) as measured with a digital caliper and weighs 97 g's with 3 of the links removed for fitting, sorry, didn't weigh it before adjusting the band. I got this on a Gold box deal for $160 and it's an absolute steal at that price, if you can get this thing for anywhere close to $200 (which shouldn't be too difficult) it's well worth it.

Oh yea, buy this!
Even though I watched this for weeks and weeks, bought when the price dropped, now it's even LESS! But this is a review of the watch, and I love it.I haven't taken it off my wrist since I re-sized it! Even wear it to bed. The glow of the hands and face last all night so I can see the time if I wake at night. I am so near-sighted I can't see my alarm clock.A note on re-sizing. If you do this yourself, as I do, watch for teeeny sleeves inside the band where the pins go! I've not seen these before and they are very small. If you lose them, the pins will not stay secure when you replace them. Just watch out when you remove the pins, make sure you keep track of these tiny tiny sleeves! This watch is very nice looking, as others have said.It seems very accurate, though I've only had it a week, it hasn't lost or gained any time. It's very easy to set, it has a second hack, if you can still call it that? When you pull the crown, the second hand stops. This makes for easier accurate time setting. The band is very light! The heft feels too lite to be metal, because it's titanium. I really like that!I'd say if you're on the fence about this one, Oh yea! Pick it up! Especially now that the price has dropped below $200.00!Eco-drive means never replacing the battery, sapphire means never scratching the crystal, that means this is a great watch for this price!

Love this watch
This is my 6th citizen eco drive purchase on amazon and 3rd citizen titanium. I am a fan of eco drive watches.Love this watch. Its blue titanium dial with honeycomb face, the edgy sharp number markers, the sleek classy titanium bracelet and the "right"size dial with a roundish look are perfect for a office or formal event. The best part is this blue is not tacky or loud and shines when in sunlight exposing the honeycomb detailing. Date feature is quite big and visible compared to other watches where you literally go blind reading the date.Cant believe - Sapphire crystal, and All titanium for a steal deal of $142.99 incl taxes on fathers day sale.My husband loved this watch online last year, and this was second in line when i chose to instead gift him the titanium chrono atomic AT4010-50E for his new job. So had to get this one for his 37th birthday. Thanks Amazon and Citizen.

One of the best watches I have ever owned!
My last watch I owned was a Citizen Echo drive Titanium wristband watch. I had it for 10 years before it stopped working. I purchased this watch and it is a tiny bit bigger but still very light. The watch itself is even larger than my last one. In my opinion I find Citizen makes a great quality watch. I really like the sapphire crystal, and as for some people saying that the watch is more of a grayish color, I think it's a very nice blue. This is my everyday watch as well as using it for a dress watch. It's just a beautiful and comfortable watch to wear and it's not big and bulky and a joy to wear. I will purchase another one when this one goes which will most likely be in another ten years if not longer. I am also going to see if I can get my other one fixed because it's still in great shape. Go to the jewelers and try one on and find out for yourself just how light and stylish this watch is and you can be the judge of what I say about this watch.

Nice time piece.
Love this watch, I wanted something that wasn’t to busy on the face, I don’t need to dive to 2000m or know the time in 147 time zones whilst timing myself to a 1/100 of a second. I was going for simple and elegant and this watch nails it. It has a big blue face that looks good with a suit or in jeans and a tee. My last watch was kinetic so I didn’t need to replace batteries, this one is charged by light so still don’t need batteries which is a bonus. I wish the date window was a bit bigger or magnified, it can be hard to make out the date in some lights although my eyes aren’t the best so could be just me. I wanted a radio controlled time piece but couldn’t afford it. Being titanium it’s light and strong, the watch still looks good after 8 months of daily use.A note on resizing the bracelet, when tapping out the pins from the links be super careful because there are small conical collars/grommets in each link that stops the pins falling out of the bracelet. this isn’t a new design but I wasn’t familiar with it and had to hunt for the tiny pieces of metal on and around my desk after I lost them, I did find them in the end and all was well.

beautiful watch, more bling that expected, older models were sleeker
On unboxing this watch, I was surprised by its larger size and thickness compared to an earlier citizen eco Ti watch I own (details below). I felt disappointed that it is not as sleek, hence the 4* rating. The face is a pretty as the photos suggest, and I like the very dark blue colour. Its possible to consult the time at night, even after many hours of darkness (all night long). Adjusting the strap using a suitable kit was easy, following instructions on Citizen's website. The pins are to be pushed in the direction of the marked arrows, while reassembly is in the reverse direction. Watch out for a bushing in one link where the pin is solid, i.e. not of the split pin type (the majority are).I've owned a citizen eco-drive titanium watch for 9 years. a BM1290. Its been worn daily, and occasionally even worn for sports. This is still a great watch, and has only sustained a minor and acceptable level of scratches on the bracelet and body. The sapphire glass has resisted many accidents and remains unscratched. The solar mechanism has always worked perfectly, never losing charge, and always with perfect time keeping. I purchased the new watch on a whim to ensure that I have a replacement for the day that the older one eventually breaks through accident or battery failure.

I loved it, particularly because I don't like heavy watches
My last Citizen Titanium Eco-Drive lasted 20 years of continuous use during which time it needed one replacement chargeable battery and latterly a lot of replacement pins in the bracelet. I loved it, particularly because I don't like heavy watches. This one seems very much the same quality and looks extremely smart in the wrist. Hopefully it will give the same lengthy service. The pricing was also far better than elsewhere.A note of caution - unless you have huge wrists you will need to remove some links from the bracelet and this is a very fiddly job. There are various videos on YouTube but I could not find one for this model. It has a pin secured by a minute scroll pin (easy to lose) situated in the middle part of the link. Difficult to do single handed and really best with a magnifying glass. Good luck.

What a bargain
Have had my eye on this watch for some time, already own another Citizens Eco-drive watch which was excellent. Could not resist buying the watch when it was discounted (over £100) cheaper than other shops. I was not disappointed- lightweight with the titanium wristband-looks great-took it to a local jewellers and for £5 had two links taken out-now fits like a glove-looks great and more expensive than it cost. Excellent buy at the price-not disappointed.

Nice watch very light, quite large.
Nice watch, very light and felt nice on the wrist, unfortunately the one i ordered had no extra links so was a little tight, i could not source additional links and the bracelet is unique to this watch so could not put another bracelet or a leather strap on it.Unfortunately i had to send back to amazon after talking to customer services as they could not resolve the issue and advised to return the watch.I would have liked a replacement but because i purchased on warehouse deals this was not an option, shame i did like it.

Lovely watch, but face colour misleading
Nice watch, looks really good and feels well made and solid. However, the photos are misleading (particularly the 2nd one). In reality the watch face is a very dark blue-black, almost black, which is not what I wanted. I returned the watch (unused) for a refund. 5 stars for a beautiful watch, just not blue enough for me.

A watch to be grateful for.
A beautiful watch to look at. The synthetic sapphire almost glows and the watch only seems to loose about 30 seconds every month. It has little touches that together make it sparkle. Originally got it as an everyday work watch but have decided not to wear to work. If you are in to appreciating what you have and feeling abundant, then this watch is one of those things that will remind you to be grateful.

Great watch for special occasions.
Great quality watch, well made and comfortable. I adjusted the strap myself it was a little fiddly but got there in the end. If you do it yourself ensure that the friction Bush is reinserted or the pin will not stay in place. The only downside to the watch is the date is a little different to read.

Another great Citizen watch.
My last watch was a Citizen and it lasted me many years. I needed a titanium one as steel ones tend to rot on my wrist. This new watch feels lovely and I'm more than happy with it.

A Good looking and Practical Watch
I love this watch. It looks good without being too ostentatious. The display is easy to read but for me the tiny day display is too small to read (why do all watch makers do that?). It doesn't have a built in calendar so you'll have to adjust the days every month, if you use it. The display is luminous so you can see it at night and Eco Drive means no more batteries which is a bonus!

Bad Citizen
After 17 months of lightly wearing it, the bracelet's 'super-strong Titanium' riveted link under the 'five' broke. Sent it to Citizen for a simple bracelet repair/ replacement . They sent it back to me 11 weeks later with a new bracelet attached. However, the pins attaching the bracelet to the actual watch kept sneaking in and out. It's back with Citizen.

Great watch, sits really well on the wrist
Great watch, sits really well on the wrist, ample strap length to tinker with (I have a large wrist and had to remove two bands).Looks very nice, worn for a couple of months, no scratches or dents even after a few accidental bumps here and there.Highly recommended timepiece!

Happy with this
Little bigger than I was expecting 45.45.15mm. Had to remove one link from the strap to fit comfortably,my wrist size 21cm.On line warranty easy to activate 5+1 years. All's good at the moment would have given 5 stars but its only been a week.

Accurate
Good looking watch. Very accurate.Lovely blue shade for dial when in the sun, black when in. Would have given full five stars if the seconds hand would line up exactly against the markings.

Love My Citizen
Spent along time deciding which Citizen Eco Drive to buy. Delighted to have chosen this model...has the look and feel of an expensive timepiece. Adjusted the strap using a simple tool also purchased from Amazon saving me a trip to the Jewler. Love my new Citizen!
