Q: Why is there a warning on this product?

I don't remember seeing anything about a warning, but the housing on my system cracked and leaked water under the kitchen sink. I replaced it with a model recommended by my plumber.

Q: After 6 months the filters keep popping off. I tried a new filter and same problem. Is there a fix or did this unit become defective?

I suggest you call Whirlpool and describe your problem. I think they would be able to resolve any issues you are having.

Q: Can this be mounted on the inside of the cabinet or does it have to sit on the floor of the cabinet

I applied strips of industrial grade velcro on the housing & side of cabinet underneath my sink. I can pull it loose to replace filters and stick it back on the side to keep it up out of the way. The first generation mounted the filter housing with screws, it was prone to cracking & forming leaks. This second generation has worked trouble free for me several years.
