2013 Ford Edge Platinum - Perfect Fit
I added this and a 4-pin wiring harness to my 2013 Ford Edge. Straight forward install, probably does take about an hour, if you have the 17/32 drill bit per the instructions. I did almost all of this myself, I only had help holding the hitch up when I started to mount it on the first bolt. After that it was back to a one man job. Probably could have done it without help, but it sure would have been more difficult.I also took the bottom plastic apart some, just to have better access to the end of the frame to fish in the bolt and washer. Also pretty simple. The kit comes with everything you need, except of course the drill bit. Even comes with four fish wires to pull the washer and bolt through the frame. Without those, I would have sent this thing back. You could use a 9/16 drill bit, but you would probably be drilling out the hitch some. I actually haven't done that part yet, so it will be a little slow. Also why I assume the hour timeframe on the instructions is about correct.Either way, very happy I picked this up and will be finishing the install once I get the drill bit. Had to order it, 17/32 is not a common size.

Read directions
Before you think this is a simple install and you don’t need to look at directions, at least look at the parts page, especially the bolts. As you’ll notice, some bolts are longer than others and you’ll need to know which ones goes where. Also, make sure you can unscrew two fish wire bolt leaders because they only give you 4, so stupid that they did this. On the last bolt, the one you have drill out, the bit is a 1/2 drill, you don’t need to use a smaller drill first. I did it without a leading hole on both sides. As far as using your fish wire in the last two bolts, I found it easier to feed the hole using the unthreaded side from the back of the frame hole. If you bend the straight end to 90 degrees you’ll be able to lead it into the hole better. This hole is a pain to bend the fishing wire that hold the bolt in, so I fed the wire through back side of frame instead of pushing the threaded side in the hole to feed it out, so hard to get it to bend enough to grab it. Make sure that after you have installed hitch, that you retighten bolts after you’ve gone for a ride. Double check to make sure nothing is lose after you’ve taken the car out for a test ride. You’re gonna notice the you’ll need to give a little extra gas when coming off the acceleration lane, with or without a trailer. Definitely makes for a different ride after install. You’ll notice car has more momentum when braking, so, be careful and enjoy your new hitch! To the company this is a 100% good product, so give to those buying this in the future a couple of extra fish wires for last two bolts.

Quality
Arrived slightly bent, but easy to straighten out. Install took about 2 hours due to me not following directions, and having to remove and reinstall. Not hard to do. Was able to complete with only removing the two back exhaust hangers and pushing it side to side out of the way.

Nice fit, looks great....
The hitch fits great, looks very natural as if it belongs. My wife was happy about that as she was worried it would stick out and look awkward.Installation took about an hour and a half, this was with two people, one average, and one very mechanically inclined.I would agree with some of the previous reviews, a notch above entry level. But if you have a few tools and search for an installation video on YouTube, I feel most people could install, although it may take 2-3 hours if not as skilled.A few pointers to offer:- Definitely search for and watch an installation video, a lot easier than the included instructions.- We did lower the exhaust, good to have a pry bar to remove the hangers from the rubber boots.- Rather than strap the exhaust up, we placed wooden blocks beneath to support.- REAL TIME SAVER: The kit comes with 6 bolts, 3 for each side. There are 2 per side that slot right into factory holes. The OEM hitch only uses these 4 holes/bolts. As I'm only using this for a cargo rack and don't plan on towing anything, we only used the 4 bolts in the existing holes. This prevented us from having to drill into the frame to install the back bolt on each side. Try at your own risk, but felt quite confident 4 bolts were sufficient for my application. I can always add the last 2 should my needs change.- The lines to fish the bolts through the frame are pretty good, but that's definitely the tricky part. You need to kind of pry open the end part of the spring to get the bolt to thread on.

Hitch was bent when delivered
We bought this hitch, works great. Before having it installed make sure it isn't damaged. We were charged extra for installing because of damage. Should have returned it

Does what it is supposed to do.
I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars, but that option is not available for me. You probably know what it is and what it does. All that is left is the packaging, fit & finish and what they ship the product with. The receiver part of the unit comes wrapped in multiple layers of tape that surrounds the plastic bag with your bolts and accessories to mount the unit. I can only guess that mine was wrapped in tape before the paint had chance to cure properly. I was careful and used a pair of scissors to carefully cut the tape into strips to remove. However there were sections of the paint that came off with the tape. For baked epoxy paint that it is supposed to be finished with, that is pretty poor. I just touched it up with some rustoleum black metal paint i happened to have so it wouldn't rust on me after installing it.The second knock is the bolt fishes that they give you. I can understand that it saves a bit to only give you 4 to fish the 6 bolts. But where I really was put back is that the length of the bolt fish is about 6" too short. you just get enough length to do the back bolt only just, but it took me 3-4 tries to get the bold and metal plate on one end without pulling the wire back into the hole on the other end. I ended up with a moment of wisdom clamping a vice grip onto one end of the wire so it wouldn't pull back through. Now as to the instructions. there are loads of videos on YouTube that cover how to install these. I was putting mine onto a 2013 Ford Edge SEL. You don't need to drop the exhaust to install. For the heat shields, you only need to remove the two outside bolts on the driver and passenger shields and you'd have plenty of slack to cut the front tab and trim the back so that the shield doesn't obstruct where the bolts are mounted. As for the exhaust, the two bolts that you have to drill out the frame to install, the tail pipe gets in the way. But I found that if you unhook the left and right rubber mounts for the exhaust pipe, but leave the center hanger, there is enough latteral movement on the tail pipe to move it enough out the way to drill your holes.

Fit a 2013 Ford Edge
I put this on a 2013 Ford Edge. It went on relatively easy. For doing it the first time it took only a couple hours. Looks good. I haven’t officially used it yet so only 4 stars. Probably will be 5 stars after it’s tried. It’s really sturdy.

Fit 2011 Ford Edge perfectly.
Fit as OEM product. A little difficult and frustrating to put a few bolts in with the supplied guide wire.
