Outstanding - Works Perfectly!
Outstanding!! Hired a professional to install the Boss BV9356 in a 2003 Toyota Highlander, and I'm very happy with the stereo! Music plays perfect from USB port, with a track listing of the folders and songs on the flash drive listed in menus, so you can choose which songs you want to hear. DVD plays perfect with a great picture. CD's play perfectly. Calendar, calculator, and clock work perfectly. I hesitated about a month before ordering this stereo after reading some of the reviews, but very happy I did, 100% satisfied -- everything is perfect! It looks great in the dash .. the pro I hired had a harness and the extra items required for installation, and it only took an hour. Very affordable upgrade from the standard sound system that came in the Toyota Highlander. The only thing that could really be improved in the stereo is one facet other reviewers have also mentioned -- when in the Play Music mode, if you want to adjust the Equalizer, there's a button to push on the far lower right corner, but the music actually stops once you go to that screen and you're adjusting the Equalizer. So you adjust the Equalizer, then go back to the previous Play Music screen to hear what the adjustment sounds like. Not a huge deal, just an extra step. I would recommend this stereo in a heartbeat! It's basic .. doesn't have Bluetooth or Navigation ... but some of those extra areas are where a lot of product complaints have come in on other similar Boss products. There's less to go wrong with this unit, and with a professional install, it sincerely works perfect! This is a basic unit, you're not paying hundreds of dollars for Bose or Alpine, so the sound may not be spectacular if you compare it to a super high end stereo, but it's honestly fantastic for what it is! Five stars, works perfectly, easy to use, and affordable!UPDATE: July 9, 2016 - Ordered a second identical stereo for our 2006 Toyota Tundra, and the second Boss 9356 quality was not fantastic like the first, and the stereo was made somewhat differently. The modes were different (for example, no calculator on the second), and the USB port was turned vertically instead of horizontally. The same sound professional tried to install the second stereo in our truck, but said after 3.5 hours that the stereo wasn't compatible with my steering wheel controls. The touch screen wasn't as responsive, taking 2-3 taps to change modes. The CD player was also hesitant about ejecting discs. While I LOVE the first stereo and wouldn't trade it for any other sound system, the second supposedly identical Boss 9356 stereo I ordered wasn't of the same quality or exact design. Maybe Boss's quality isn't consistent? Thankfully, Amazon accepted the second stereo for return, and I appreciated that very much. Perhaps just be cautious if you purchase one, and ensure to have it checked within the 30-day trial period...

Perfect fit!
Fit great in my 2009 Chevrolet Impala. Bought a "Double Din" mounting kit for like 8 dollars and it worked great! You can wire this yourself without a wiring kit if you just lookup your vehicles wiring diagram and take your time. All the cables with the radio are labeled nicely and its all straight forward.

Spend less get less
Unfortunately I don't think you can swear in Amazon reviews so I'll have to tell you politely what a piece of garbage this stereo is. The clock has a mind of it's own and will randomly decide whatever time it feels like displaying no matter how many times you change it back. And I'm not even talking about a couple of minutes or even an even hour off but if the time is 1:15 it might say 2:37 or even 4:52. Who knows?!?! What a fun game!!! Secondly the volume control is a joke. The maximum volume is 35 but when it's at 8 it sounds like the speakers want to blow out. The jump from 6 to 7 to 8 is ridiculous and basically goes can't hear anything, a little too loud, and HOLY CRAP I NEED EARPLUGS. Why would it even need to go up to 35?!?! On to the touchscreen... don't trust any review that says it is user friendly. You have to press hard and you can push the same exact spot four times in a row with nothing but the fifth one might work. Makes it really difficult to do anything especially when driving. As far as customization, don't expect anything there. The only thing you can change is the wallpaper which doesn't even show up unless you're on the home screen. I thought it would be smart to plug a usb stick with all my music into the back port of the radio, but when you use the usb mode if you leave that screen at all, even to change the audio settings, the music will turn off and have to reload after you're done. There is no way to search for songs or organize any of the music so you have to scroll through a list that doesn't even display half of the info for the files so you have to guess where the song you're looking for is. Don't expect any help from the manual because it is written in the most broken english I've ever had to try and read. I'm sure I'm leaving things out but I think you get the jist of this rant... I'm not even so mad about losing $100 because I'm passed the return date on amazon, but more so the fact that I have to uninstall the whole thing and clip all the wires I spent almost four hours soldering and crimping. My advice is to spend the extra one or two hundred on a kenwood or pioneer and have a quality stereo that can be a permanent fixture in your vehicle. That's what I'll be doing as soon as humanly possible.

It works as explained, but I thought it had bluetooth and it doesn't :'( My fault though. Touchscreen isn't all that responsive, but it works!

Great starter unit with a single amplifier!
Didn't have two external amp outputs I needed. Otherwise, it would have been a great unit!
