The WSD-F30 features a dual-layer monochrome and color display. The color display employs an organic EL display that shows maps and data in finer detail. The layout of the monochrome display now shows more than just the time; it also displays atmospheric pressure/altitude and compass bearing, as befits the PRO TREK outdoor gear brand. This feature provides useful information for outdoor activities at a glance while conserving energy. The WSD-F30 features a dual-layer monochrome and color display. Wow. Just wow
Most new products don't usually impress me much but this watch is 110% awesome. It has more features that I can list and has some really nice apps available with more and better apps on the way. The color screen layer is not easy to read in direct sunlight but the white on black lcd screen layer is very easy to see in direct sun. Battery life, so far, is better than advertised - your mileage may vary. The response is a little sluggish but also very very good considering it's a watch and not a multicore desktop computer. It was very easy to set up and get connected.

This is a great watch and an Exceptional VALUE
Of course everyone wants longer battery life but i can get 2 days out of my ProTrek F30 with light use without using the either of the battery saver modes but I love that you "can" turn off everything except the Time, Compass & Altimeter and get 30 days with Monochrome screen. This watch has two layered Monochrome over the OLED... What an amazing capability. The processor is a a little slow, but totally exceptable. At less than half the price of the high end Garmin and likely of equal quality this watch is an exceptional value!

Aweome Watch but....
Casio Protrek watches are great watches for sure. I had been using one for the last 10 years without any problem. It has tough solar feature so I never cared about the battery life. I say battery life because right here it is the case.F30 is a great watch too, a great protrek with some great features. Very reliable for outdoor activities since it`s compass, map, altimeter etc are all working great.Google fit is nice, and the activity tracker works flawlessly. However, I can`t say it`s step count is very accurate. I`ve tried 10 steps, and my watched increased the number by 70-80.Finally, the biggest cons of the watch, Battery Life. It takes 2-3 hours to fully charge but with normal mode (smartwatch mode) it lasts only 1 day without even using it in full extent namely GPS, Map etc.My overall rating is 4 star because the battery life is big downside of this watch. If you are an active outdoor person just keep in mind that it might even last less than 1 day with all features active. If you are buying this watch mostly as a smartwatch consider the battery life.Still it is an awesome watch for anyone who is ok with charging it every single day.

darn nice watch
for the price I was like "this better be twice as good as a smartwatch." It is. My boy likes to top it up during the day so we're not sure how long the battery will go; seems "about a day", but probably not "two days."GPS takes about 5 seconds to fire up, and it's pretty sweet. Doesn't feel sluggish to start, and it's very responsive when up. The rest of the interface is real snappy, very bright screen, etc. Nice watch.

Doesn’t look like $500!
Nice looking watch but it definitely doesn’t look like a $550 watch. The band looked like cheap plastic and the so did the case. It did have nice graphics, but not the most user friendly device.

The processor / response time is terrible
I really like the watch. Although I have thin wrists the watch is not overwhelming. The watch is well made. It handles a lot of outdoor activities well. I bump more trees and rocks than I prefer to admit. My gripe is the response of the software is terribly slow. You never know if your tap was accepted because often nothing happens or the screen goes black, often times out to power saving state before your action was completed. As many faces that are available most are for looks not functionality. This is not on the watch but the software. If you snow board or mountain bike, there are plenty more states I prefer to see over the barometer. The mapping is great.Update: It has been several months and several updates to the software. I could not technically say if it is the watch or Google's Wear OS but the combination is terrible. So many things don't work correctly or consistently. The watch is constantly disconnected from the phone so notifications are constantly missed. Unlike a phone, once connected they do not show up. You get one chance to receive them and if the connection has failed again (constant means minute to minute) you do not get the notification.I wear it, I like the watch. Terribly expensive since it does not work well as a smart watch but I own it. I still feel it is Google that has let down this product line but it could be an under powered bluetooth in the watch. Even if that was patched, the OS is terrible.i suggest waiting another couple years if Google even continues this OS.

Great Battery Saver Mode! Read the instructions!
Realizing that many reviewers have had difficulty with battery life, I cannot stress enough that you should read the instructions manual. This is not an intutive watch.I've had this watch nearly two weeks and have just about figured it out.Use the BATTERY SAVER mode to save battery life! The apps are fabulous and work really well and are useful for my outdoor activities which I engage in nearly every day.The manual is your friend. Read it. Refer to it. Comprehend it. You will be pleased.F30 paired with Google Pixel XL first version.

Terrible battery life. This is a rip off!
The altimeter is way off. Worthless.Battery life is horrible. Have to recharge throughout the day. You can stretch the battery life if you leave the watch at home and don’t touch it.If you’re navigating by this watch, bring a traditional compass and map. You will need them when the battery is drained.Navigating the menus takes some time to learn. Frustrating.Note to the engineers: ditch the charging and add solar charging. It’s an outdoor watch. If you have several tools in use such as compass and map, the battery drains, and then you’re lost. Add solar!
