Pain Neuroscience Education: Teaching People About Pain

Had to read some out of this book for class and it was extremely interesting. Book came in great condition and definitely worth a read.

Excellent book. I am learning how to teach patients about chronic pain. Interesting. Well written. Very well researched. Evidence based.

Excellent book. Friendly, better and much bigger than first edition. Lots of metaphores plus the directions and ideas to where all this is going.

The definition of “ablesplaining” from Wikipedia:"The act of a nondisabled person condescendingly explaining disability, especially with the presumption that the disabled lack relevant understanding or authority, or are not in a position to speak for themselves."I am a disabled person with severe chronic pain. I am not a science denier. I am certain that the parts of this book that are about physiology and anatomy are correct. The reason why I give this book 1 star is not because there is a problem with the physiology and anatomy, but because of the condescending tone of the author.If you are not bothered by the author’s tone, this book will probably be great for you. However, if you are a disabled person and find the tone to be condescending, there are other books that teach physiologically and anatomically correct pain science without condescendingly victim blaming you for your pain or disability. I have seen another reviewer suggest the books "Explain Pain" and "Pain: The Science of Suffering".

Ein sehr wichtiges, gutes, wissenschaftlich fundiertes Buch. Jede*r Physiotherapeut*in wird davon profitieren, endlich ein aktualisiertes Verständnis von Schmerz zu haben - auch jede*r andere klinische Praktiker*in, wie zum Beispiel Ärzt*innen.Es wird Zeit, dass diese wissenschaftlich gesicherten Erkenntnisse die alten und vor allem veralteten und überholten Modelle, die bei uns leider noch immer etabliert sind, ablösen. Mit diesem Buch ist es möglich.
