L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum, 585(5.5ml)

As I aged, I knew that my hair would turn gray (it is), I would develop facial wrinkles (I have), and that my bewbs would sneak South (no comment); however, no one told me that my eyelashes would become shorter and finer, too."You have got to be freaking kidding me!" I finally exclaimed last month, and at the age of 43 I was faced with the first sign of aging that has really upset me. Ever since I was a child I have had long eyelashes. People used to comment on them all the time, even going as far as to suggest I was wearing false eyelashes. But when I have been looking in the mirror for the past year my eyelashes have begun to look like like, well, old lady eyelashes. When I put on mascara, in place of being rewarded with long, flowing blinkers I was instead confronted with the stark reality that I looked as if I belonged to the Joan Van Ark Mascara Hot Mess Club. I had black spikes poking out and around two confused and cynical green orbs in a manner that was, well, not flattering in the least.Three weeks ago I purchased L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum with minimal expectations, and I have begun to see results. Yesterday, for the first time, I noticed that my eyelashes are beginning to look like they did ten years ago; they are definitely longer, and they are not falling out.I have begun to apply the lash serum to my eyebrows to see if it works on them as well, and I will report back in the next couple of weeks with my results.The only other note I have for any prospective buyers is that there is one aspect of this product that you might want to watch out for: if you use it in the morning before you put on your makeup, it will cause your mascara, your eyeliner, and your eyeshadow to peel off. The peeling happens when I apply mascara, though, and it is a bit of a nuisance. I sometimes have to use a thin pair of tweezers to pull the excess off my lashes or lids, and then I have to reapply my eyeshadow or liner. This is a small issue, however, considering the benefits of the last serum. (Nor does it sting my eyes when it has gotten into them...)I recommend this serum to anyone with thinning lashes. I would also like to comment that I have been using it twice daily on my lids, lashes, and brows for three weeks, and I have only used around five percent of the tube. I believe this tube will last me four or five months in the least.Thank you for reading my review. Best wishes to any of you looking for longer lashes!UPDATE, AS Of NOVEMBER, 2013:I started using this product only in the evening, after taking my makeup off or washing my face, six weeks after writing this review. My lashes are still long, and they still grow in well. This past summer, I was making pita pockets via the recipe from the Game of Thrones Cookbook (Inn at the Crossroads). When putting one pocket on the bread stone in our oven, I burned my face, because the oven was set to over 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Later that night, when I took off my mascara, my eyelashes came off with it. Yes, I burned my eyelashes off. For two months I wore false eyelashes, and I used this product three times a day. By August, my lashes had grown completely back, and still long at that.With a once-a-day application, I am able to retain lashes that are close to one centimeter long with mascara. This product has worked very well for me over time.UPDATE, AS OF AUGUST, 2014:I just wanted to check in to say that I have been using this product once daily for two years now. My lashes have remained long and full. I am sold.

I bought this almost three months ago because my eyelashes were sparse due to wearing extensions for several months. And I had the extensions put on because my lashes had thinned and shortened with middle age.So I ordered some false eyelashes here on Amazon to carry me until my lashes grew back, and I saw this L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum and thought, "What the heck?" It's cheap and doesn't have any weird medication in it like that other stuff people are using these days. So I ordered it.At first I used it twice a day, morning before makeup and night time after cleansing. A few times my eyelid got a little itchy, so I cut use down to once every day or two, at night.My lashes started growing back pretty well, so I thought "how can I tell if it was the Serum or just natural?" Well now I do believe that the Serum is working because my eyelashes are longer now than they were originally! Bonus! Now, if they could figure out a Serum for thinning head hair that isn't pharmaceutical, that would make someone very rich!Anyway, if you have lash growth issues, go ahead and try this, what the hey - it's cheap.

This is the first time I've ever reviewed a product. But I feel it's critical to let anyone who uses this product know the risks. I used this serum for 6 months with amazing results. I followed the directions, and since it worked so well...thought I'd use it to thicken my brows too. PLEASE KNOW THE RISK IS NOT WORTH THE REWARD. I am now stuggling with eyesight issues. Specifically, damage to my retina. The pigment just above my brows have darkened into a line where this product was used. I didn't make the connection between this product and my eyesight issues until I was recently diagnosed...but it's not a coincidence. I'd suggest not using this product or others like it (including Castor oil) ever. If you do, please follow directions. My lesson...thicker lashes may have cost me my sight. Please consider before using.

I used to wear fake eyelashes daily until one day I stopped, then I realized the fake lashes ripped a good amount of my real lashes out, and they were very sparse and small. I bought this product in store (when they used to sell it at Target, Walgreens, Walmart, etc) for a shot in the dark. This thing is my HOLY GRAIL! I applied a good amount before bed on my lashes, and literally the next morning or within just a couple days, my lashes grew back. They were long, even, and so nice looking! I love this product. I have sensitive eyes, but this has never burned or irritated my eyes. The only thing is if you apply to much (and keep it on over night) you wake up with crusty eye goup in the corner. This is awesome. Would always recommend this to people trying to grow their lashes. Love this.

I have faithfully applied this serum, and think it may be working a little, but I am not sure if this is just the serum, which sticks to the lashes, and may be giving my lashes a little length, or my lashes. If I stop, my lashes go back to their original length. I'd say this sort of does it's job, but not enough for me. It gives you the feeling you are doing something for yourself, but, in the end, I should probably get one of the prescription brands.

The product arrived but it wasn't in its original packaging as shown in the photos. I was too scared to use it because I have no idea if it was tampered with. I ended up throwing it away because I refuse to use a product that isn't its sealed original packaging.

It is an amazing serum which I have tried. It holds up your eyelashes and with constant use, it fans out your eyelashes evenly. I won't say it has thickened and lengthened my eyelashes but my lashes look really healthy. If you have very sparse eyelashes, it may not help you. But makes the existing eyelashes look good. The best part about it protects eyelashes with makeup and mascara looks better on this and it quite simple to put.However, if you are using just the serum on your bare eyelashes, whitish cast starts to come after it has dried which make your eyes look gross. Which is why I have to skip putting this on often during the day when I don't want to put on makeup. It also lasts only about a month if you are using it regularly.Other than that, it is definitely a good product and I will be re-purchasing it.

I wasn't expecting great things from this product, but it honestly hasn't done a great deal at all to my lashes. I use false lashes basically every day so hoped this would be my saving grace for the damage I'm causing- however I haven't noticed much at all. My lashes do seem to be staying in better (I was loosing a lot of my natural single lashes when I took my makeup off) but other than that I haven't had any changes.I applied this at night, every night for a month- its a bit of a pain to put on and I ended up using a mascara wand to put it on because I couldn't get a good coverage. It has a very chemical smell to it, and in the morning when I woke up it was just a bit of a crusty mess, so I'm not sure how it would work under mascara even though it recommends you do that.I will probably give it some more use before giving up, by so far, so disappointing
