Worked perfectly on a damaged engine oil drain hole
Just bought a used car to discover the oil drain hole and plug threads were damaged, but not completely stripped. I did some YouTube research and decided to try a "thread chaser" before a "thread tap". What I learned is the "thread chaser" is less aggressive and is more suitable for repairing damaged threads. A "thread tap" is more suitable when the threads are completely damaged/stripped and you need to cut new threads.I confirmed the diameter and pitch of the oil drain plug and purchased this thread chaser. Oil was still dripping from the drain hole as I was using the chaser. The dripping oil kept the thread chaser lubricated while I was using it and pushed debris out of the oil pan.I started the thread chaser by hand until I could tighten it no further. Then I used a socket and tightened 1/2 turn and then backed out 1/4 turn. I repeated this process several times and then backed the chaser out all the way to remove any debris. I didn't want debris getting into the oil pan. I repeated the above process many times until all the threads of the thread chaser disappeared into the oil pan. I then replaced the thread chaser with the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug screwed into the oil pan perfectly with almost zero play. I then torqued the oil drain plug to factory specs. After several days, the oil drain plug is still on tight and not dripping any oil.

Worked quite well for my application.
I think some of these other reviews may be expecting miracles out of beyond repair situations. If you're grounded in reality, this inexpensive thread chaser will be useful and last for several projects if used properly.

It does the job well
I used it to install a hitch on a 2010 SiennaThe bolts that came with the hitch looked too big because the rust had taken over the slots that they should fitThis tool is the same size so I used it to clear the thread and it did the job.It took a little time but otherwise it was impossible to have a hitch installed on my van.In my opinion and situation it was better than a thread chaser.

Good quality but will not work on Infiniti G37 G35 FX35
Tool seems like nice quality but the bolt is too large for application on Infiniti G37. I bought it to chase threads on a G37 spark plugs and the bolt is too large to use a socket and fit into spark plug well. Went with the Bosh thread chaser and that worked perfectly.

Great tool for cleaning threads
I used this tool to clean the spark plug threads of my Odyssey Touring, which has smaller threads than other Honda engines. This tool was able to effectively clean the treads so that I was able to finally install a spark plug that had been unable to be screwed in previously. It looks like it is still in decent condition, I expect that I will get more uses out of it in the future.

Outstanding tool
First , it fit perfectly on my 12mm x 1.25mm yamaha vstar 650 classic spark plug cavity. I am a do it yourself type of guy and at first I was hesitant because a mustake or the wrong tool can easily turn into a$1,000 mistake. I was able to fix the cross threaded spark plug insert and the end result was perfect. My sparkplug went in by me threading it by hand with no issues.

Worked great ! And great price
I got a set of other thread restorers to deal with the threads when mounting a hitch on a 2008 Toyota Sienna.I battled with the first three holes using the other set until I got them usable... then decided to get something else for the other three.... man, I wish I'd just bought this to begin with! This thing worked great, and I had the last three holes cleaned and hitch fully mounted in half the time it took me just to clean the first three holes. Quite a difference! Highly recommended.

Easy to use and save ya money in the long run.
I wasnt sure about if this thing would work for my spark plug whole but luckily I matched the threads perfectly. I used some anti seize lubrication along with it. Gently tightening and losing the rethreader and cleaning the gunk and metal shavings off I managed to fix my threads and put my spark plug back into the hole no problem. This is definitely a money saver!
