MTD Genuine 731-07203 Trail Shield Fits Columbia Craftsman Huskee Troy Bilt

Fits well, seems strong enough and most importantly it works!Little harder to install than expected because where the key slips in the slot it's hard to manipulate and spin just the ends to fit correctly. My 3rd attempt made it.Very worth it!

We had a flap come loose and got caught by the blade. We were excited to find the replacement part which came in super quick. I was afraid I would have to he help to install it, but it went on so easily and I was back mowing in minutes. Great design. Easy Install.

We got a used Craftsman mower at the local resale shop, and it worked great, starts first pull, self-propelled, the works. But our tricky lawn has a lot of mowing little corners forward and backward and with days saw that this trailing shield was ripping off. Looked up our mower model, found this replacement listed, ordered it and just after the old shield ripped totally off, the new one arrived and went on perfectly. Works fine, hope it lasts a few years. Note: you probably don't really need one of these if you have a rear bagging mower and you use the bagger to pick up your clippings. I almost never see this shield anymore since I started bagging. But... I don't bag clippings every time, so this shield is there when I need it. Sears... sorry to see you go, but glad that the Craftsman brand survived at least.

Had to make a little modification with my utility knife to make it work with our Craftsman push mower. It now has lasted more than half the summer and still saving my shins from debris.

Good replacement for worn out part

just snaps in-no tools needed so gave 4 stars when first got it, BUT...EDITED REVIEW: cost $20--not worth two cents! shield split at the hinge and started falling off and then did; didn't last for 10 mowings!; they USED to make these in the USA and they would last at least half as long as the mower's life!, geez! going to try the other identical Chinese brand but they probably MAKE them for MTD! this is getting RIDICULUS!

I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about. If they straight up got a wrong item from the seller, then that stinks. However, please do yourself a favor and search your exact mower product number on a mower parts website. Make sure you then order the proper item number or substitute if the older item number has been updated. Anyway, the ends are keyed. Make sure to look at the mower attachment point to see how to get the old one off (if still there) and then put the new one on. I had to install it upside down since the keyed part of the hole was at the top on the mower frame. Anyway, hard to mess up a plastic flap, 5 stars.

Easy to install, seller was great to work with, we had an issue with initial order and they shipped a replacement right away. Also a great value.
