How loud is this when moving at the slowest speed? Want to use this at the center of a dining table. Would it bother people eating and talking?

It has a very quiet hum, I think it would be fine. Unless you are very silent eaters.

Can this run continuously for 8 hours?

there is no stop after start running other than power ON/OFF switch. only u can control run via remote. Hence it will run 24 hrs continuously. (i need to replace mine due to speed requirements)

Does anyone else have an issue with it losing connection to the remote? After sitting for 5 min I have to power down and restart to get connection.

Is there an option to get a more reflective top? like an acrylic?

I bought a larger acrylic top in white and in black. It took me about 3 minutes to figure out how to center the new top and now I use it all the time.
