Hand Carved Aged Bone Whale Tail Necklace with Infinity Loop and Spiral

This maku is highly detailed and is expertly crafted. These maku’s are just a bit pricey, once viewed you will know the difference between HAND CRAFTED & “plastic” molded than colored with shoe polish or spray paint.

Bought mine way back in 2015. Despite being sold from NZ it was manufactured in China. Chinese cow bone not really hand carved by Maori artisans. The ageing was some type of dye. I removed it was quickly as possible as it did not add anything to the product. Back then the bone was plain with no carved design.I was actually surprised the woven necklace didn't break with minimal wear at the point it is connected to the bone. Basically it didn't cut through.Purchase 10/15/15, broken by parrot at the weakest part of the carving today 5/23/22.I did remove it every evening and before bathing., which may have aided in the longevity of the woven necklace part.I will miss it. I will not be purchasing a replacement, for personal reasons.I'm not really into jewellery.I can not speak for the new model but my old one was worth the price and the five star rating. Despite it NOT being hand carved by Maori artisans.Then again does that detract from the intended usage?

This arrived today and I cannot wait to give it to my best friend, a kiwi, as a surprise gift as a thank you for everything she has done for me! I especially love how it came with a description telling what it represents.

Very nice product...

The necklace arrived today, earlier than I had expected. The box was pretty battered( not the sellers fault) but the necklace was perfect. The weaved pouch that it came in was cute and the info paper that came with it that tells the meaning of the necklace was a good idea. Am very happy with my purchase and will order from them again.
