Great product, worked great with my Genie opener!
I read all the negative and positive reviews, seems many negatives were about the Aladdin connecting to wifi network, I believe many customers overlook the small note that you may need to turn off mobile data on your phone in the setup process so the unit can properly connect and configure to the home wifi. Physical installation was very simple, connecting two wires and two brackets. The demonstration videos were very good and covered every detail. Unit works as advertised. I can close and open from away from home and set timing features, great to have peace of mind when away from home.

Simple and Great Garage Door Add-On
I read some of the other reviews and I see some complaints about lag in response and I agree there is a 10-15 second delay when you hit open from my phone app. However, I am not intending to use this as my primary opener and I don't believe this what it was intended for. The only time I would use this in my car to open my door would be if I was coming hot and had to take a #2 and wanted to rush in the house, otherwise I have openers in my car for that. The real reason I wanted this was is my wife is "worry wart". Every time we leave the house I get did the garage door close? Many times we have to circle back to find out that yes it was closed to ease her mind. If we could invent something similar for her curling iron that would be great, but that is a different conversation all together. I also have 2 teen boys at home that can hardly remember to brush their teeth in the morning and if my wife and are gone for the evening the odds are pretty good that the boys will leave the doors open. I now have the ability to check the door status and shut them from our favorite watering hole or even better I have scheduled them to shut if open by 10PM every night. I also no longer have to crawl out of bed at 11PM to run downstairs and look to ensure they are shut. I agree it is pretty simple and I believe that is by design and just what I needed. Installation was a bit tricky, but mostly my errors trying to rush through it, but I am up and running and could not be happier. On a side note I took the back cover off one of my head units and drilled two holes in that mounted it there so I have better visibility and cleaner look and really cool at night.

Simple to set up, for the most part, and works well.
I am pleased with this device and its function after having for a week or so. Setup was fairly simple although I docked a star for inconsistencies across platforms. I initially tried to get the device connected to wifi on my android phone and even though it would connect to the controller's network, it would not allow me to advance to next step.I imagine this had something to do with the way my pixel 2 detects networks that have no connection. I was easily able to complete this on my fiances iphone and once setup was complete, I was able to hit the controllers IP to access a web UI, so alternative, manual setup is probably plausible for someone in I.T. like myself. As far as the function of the device, it works really well. I initially set it up in place of my wall remote but yesterday decided to do the setup in conjunction with it, which works nicely and allows me to put the controller panel closer to a power outlet. The only issues I have with this product stems from the app. it is buggy. Outside of the issue setting up on android, the only other issue is the shared access. It seems to create a new entry every time a user opens or closes the door, which is mostly an annoyance but bother's me none the less. It's also worth noting that this device does not work with home assistants such as google and alexa at this time. It seems like this would be rather simple to implement but they only seem to support a hub from Lowes or home depot and it may be staying that way.I will say, it does feel great to be able to open your garage remotely, it gives me a piece of mind and flexibility that I could get used to as a parent.

Simple and works very well
So I replaced the original wall switch And connected the base unit to those switch wires. I had to add an extension cable for the power supply to the base unit because I didn’t have any outlet near my switch location. Finally I mounted the sensor to the door. It is battery operated and works very well to tell if the door is open or closed. The programming to the internet was fairly straightforward. This has been operating almost flawlessly for a few months now. The only time it gave me any issue was when the router went down once and when there was a software update that messed with it functioning. Just replaced the app and resigned in and it has been working ever since.

Poor integration with Webserver
The device was easy to install. When it works, it's also practical. But the software that integrates the app with the Webserver is poorly designed. Every so often I wait minutes for the app to update the garage door status before I can operate the door to open or close. At other times, the app knocks me out of the account and I have to type in again username and password before anything can happen. These issues get pretty annoying after awhile.

Great, reliable, easy to use product.
I've had this since Feb 2019 and it's now May 2019. I've enjoyed this opener a lot. I was able to share a guest link while on vacation for the house sitter as well as set up rules that notify me if the door has been open longer then 1 hour or if it's open/still open after 9pm. They just got Google Home linked up so I've been playing with that. It needs some work but it's a great feature to finally have. I love being able to know my garage is open or closed and be able to open or close it from anywhere. I wish the power cord were longer, but there are extensions if I decide. Easy to use and takes some time setting up the account and linking it up, but once it's going you will love it.
