Obenauf's Leather Oil (16 Ounces)

I have tried, used and abused all the best water proofing methods and substances over a thirty year period throughout the brutal conditions that Scotland can generate. This oil is for new applications on to new leather and builds up the base. It's counterpart Heavy Duty LP (8 Ounces) feeds and waterproofs the leather. This combo has an endurance that none of the other well know brands have. It works. it's good to see it available in Britain again, but should be cheaper. Good natural ingredients. It's developed for Firefighters in the U.S. Wilds of Idaho in the U.S of A

Having seen this on online reviews from the US I wanted to try this out. But it was not available this side of the pond, until I found this seller importing it and selling it here. Happy about my find I went ahead and got some, as well as the wax and waterproofer. I LOVE THIS leather oil! It smells pleasant, applies easily, soakes right into the leather. I have treated and restored a couple pairs of my work boots now and will keep using it. Amazing product.

it is one of the best leather care products in the world. It is not weather or waterproofing product. It softens the leather (boots,shooes, belts, leather jackets or gun slings) and prevents cracking, making the leather product look new.

Brilliant oil won't be using anything else from now on!

Easy to use. Soaks in quickly and thoroughly. Makes the leather supple and moisturized. It worked wonders on my neglected Sperry Top Siders, a random pair of winter Ecco brand boots, my Zamberland leather backpacking boots and a very expensive pair of Fiorentini and Bakers. Only caveat is it will reduce shine on shiny or finished shine leathers and does darken existing colours. This doesn't matter on black shoes but it is noticeable on brown leather. It isn't a dramatic change and I really like how it looks and made the browns richer.

I had heard and seen multiple reviews of the Obenauf's Leather Oil, all of which gave it high praise. I have a pair of Zamberlan leather boots that I've owned since 2003, and I had been a little lax in their maintenance as of late. Previously, I had used a beeswax product that I massaged into the leather, but it was clear that the leather had dried out (starting to show signs of cracking in flex points) and needed something that penetrated the pores better. So, I pulled the trigger on the Obenauf's. Within a few seconds of starting to apply the finish, I recognized how well the leather was taking the product. It was soaking it up like a sponge, and to my amazement, my boots went back to their original deep brown colour. Were it not for all of the nicks and scuffs from 16+ years of use, you'd never know they weren't next to new. Beyond that, water is now beading off the leather again, and that was with only one treatment. I'll be applying another treatment soon to make sure I have a lasting finish. I'm a believer now in all of the hype. It's incredible. I've already added some of their other products to my wishlist and will pull the trigger on them before too long. I highly recommend buying this, particularly for leather boots!

Efficient, effective and odor friendly

I have been using this leather oil on all of my leather items, including leather shoes, a leather laptop case, and a leather phone case, and it has worked very well across the board. None of my leather has developed cracks, and even the driest leather I own, an older pair of shoes that I had not conditioned in several years, looks much better now. Existing scuff marks are still there, which I expected, but the leather no longer looks dry or brittle, and I do not see any cracking. I have not noticed it attracting extra dust. Some people say creams attract more dust than oils, but I brush my shoes daily whether I am using cream or oil, and this oil has not caused any issues. The leather feels soft and well conditioned without feeling greasy. I usually reapply every three to six months, mainly when I am already cleaning my shoes with a damp cloth. It is not because the leather looks dry or feels like it needs it. I also have not used saddle soap at all while using this oil, and the results have still been excellent. Overall, my leather looks great, feels supple, and has held up very well. I am very happy with this product.
