Fostex HP-V1 Vacuum-Tube Portable Headphone Amplifier

Great portable amp got it hooked up to my lg v20 using my custom made wood headphones, always thought my headphones sounded great before now I don't want to take them off. Tighter bass, sweet midrange, best upper end that I have heard. Have a little static when not playing but it goes away when you start playing music. Will I be sending it back? NO,NO,NO. I'm keeping this baby. Right now getting ready to build another set of headphones with magnum v7 drivers, walnut cups and silver plated ofc cable based off Grado headphones. Extraordinary sound!!!!, a must have if you like to listen to your headphones with a warm and spacy sound. So if you want smooth and soothing sound, no gimmick here it really makes a lot of changes.

I tried many amps to drive my high ohm headphones, I tried recognized brands and not so recognized. I decided to go cheap and try my first tube (actually hybrid) Bravo Audio Ocean Mini Valve Class A amp, one could get it on Amazon. I was amazed on the change of a sound from the simple device, it added space and air, a special feeling of warm presence. Immediately I wanted something similar but portable, less fragile (Ocean has lamp sticking out, even if slightly protected). It turned out to be not easy thing to find and definitely not cheap. When listened to Fostex HP-V1 I immediately recognized the quality and beauty of the sound and bought it ($360). I enjoy its spatial picture more and more, I like its warm but detailed sound of literally heavenly spheres. And remember convenience to take it anywhere. It is not precisely pocketable but will fit in your case or bag giving you about 10 hours of irresistible music.

This is my favorite moble amp, for the road. 10 hours on battery with easy to drive headphones. Will drive my DT-880 86spl@600 ohm cans for about an hour on batteries. Great bass, without extended highs, matchup well with bright headphones, or for greater sub bass. TH-X00, AH-D2000, Fostex closed back cans are enhanced with this amp. My Sen HD-800 and IE-800,sound great, The Rock 501 Zircons sound ammazing with this big boy. It is the perfect amp for the hotel room, when you miss your home system. I use it with ER-4s on the plane too. Have had mine for a few years now and never had an issue with it. Highly recommended for the mobal audiofile.

いままでアンドロイドタブレット＋Onkyo HF Player＋iFI-Audio nano iDSD＋nano iCAN＋MDR-1Aで視聴しておりましたが、あまり過度に期待してはいなかったのですがnano iCANをHP-V1へ置き換えて視聴してみてビックリです。私しがいままで追い求めていた音にたどり着いた、そういった音です。音場が広がりちょうど良い距離で視聴している感じで、必要な音が必要なだけ聞こえ、クリアで解像度も有り、ボウカルの息づかいが聞こえ、艶のある昔聴いたアナログレコードのステレオコンポの音がします。また長時間聴いても聴き疲れしないです。まだ使用して間もないですので、これからバーンインが進みどう音質が変化するか楽しみです。やっと追い求めていた音にたどり着いた感じです。欠点があるとすれば真空管アンプの特性上しかたが無いのですが、1時間位しないと音が安定しない事ぐらいです。追記　　単独で使用するものではないので色々なポタアンDACと組合せてみましたが、やはり手持ちのなかではNexus 9＋Onkyo HF Player＋iFI-Audio nano iDSD＋MDR-1Aの組合せがHP−V1の良さがでます。私は、主にJ-POP、ロックを聴きますが、ヘビメタもなかなか良かったです。ジャズも行けそうですので、音源を手に入れて視聴したいと思います。またOnkyo HF PlayerでリアルタイムDSD変換にてDSD 5.6 MHz動作で過去のCDを聴いていますが、今まで聴こえなかった楽器の音やボウカルの息づかいも聴こえ、鳥肌ものです。ひさびさに良い買い物をしました、この感動を超えるにはポタアンで現時点では、おそらくソニーのPHA-3＋MDR-Z7をバランス駆動させるか、CHORD HUGO位でしよう。どちらも約15万〜23万位の投資が必要ですので、既にiFI-Audio nano iDSDをお持ちの方は、本製品をオススメします、今ならポイントが付きますので43,000円弱で幸せになれると思いますよ!

真空管は入力が高インピーダンスのため、元々の音に近づきます。（音質が良いのではなく、本来の音がする）このような製品がもっと欲しいと思いますが、需要が少ないのでしょうか。

I love vacuum tubes, I build my own amplifiers, single ended triodes, sweet sounds. The Fostex HP-V1 has excellent build quality, sound is what I love about tubes, midrange magic. Able to power my AKG-812 and Fostex TH-900 also use it with Beyerdynamic DT1380 for portable use. The DAP is A&K 240. Magic sounds I'm in Heaven.

他のポータブルアンプと比べてはいないのですが、真空管に魅かれての購入です。アンプって大事なんですね、ハイレゾでもアンプを通して聴くと表現力が増しますね。あと、最近このアンプを通してCDからカセットテープに録音するのが楽しみになっています。CDから直接録音した物より鳴りっぷりが良くて、躍動感があります。アンプって凄い‼︎

AC アダプターの配線の被覆部が一部剥がれてしまったのですが、メーカーに電話連絡で直ぐに新品を送ってくれました。音は気に入っています。これからの音の変化が楽しみにです。
