Everything is fine about these taps and tap wrench. The tap wrench can take larger taps than a standard tap wrench, this is a good feature. Also, the shank on the taps is smaller than the minor diameter of the threads. What this means is that if you have to tap a through hole in thicker material (in my case, 1" thick mild steel) you can run the tap all the way to the tap wrench. This is also a nice feature. There is no compromise in strength in doing this, as the tap is only as strong as the minor diameter of the thread anyways.The steel in these taps is not the highest quality for high speed steel, but it is fine as long as you are not tapping anything harder than mild steel. I would be cautious about using them for tapping H-13 or other exotic steels. The 4 flute design makes for easy resharpen with a round diamond file.

Use with cutting oil for best results and to preserve the taps. I tapped through 3/4" cast aluminum with relative ease. REMEMBER: half-turn forward, quarter-turn backward (to break up metal shavings), repeat. This was my first time trying this and everything worked out fine.

Perfect use in the industrial world, already been used several times, as long as you know what your doing. Take your time, use a pilot bit, wax, and finesse the tap 1/4 turns
