Imaginarium Polar Express Wood Train Set with Bell

Kids love it!!! Well made and fits with the other imaginarium set we have perfectly.

Was very expensive for what was given. Wanted more for the price and I don't like that its not all 100% wood pieces that came with it.

My little boy, aged 3, was so thrilled to open this present on Christmas Day that he didn't open anything else for hours. It is a great toy for fans of the film, integrates wonderfully with other track and provides hours of fun - perfect. The supplier who sold this to me through Amazon was also wonderful.

Our grandson asked Santa for this wooden set for Christmas because he wanted a train he could push himself. I initially bought the wrong set on Amazon (the battery operated version) so we gave it to him as a gift from Grandma and Grandpa to keep at our house when he visits and he loves it too! (Unlike this set, it was well-priced at $40.)We took the advice of another reviewer and purchased two of these wooden sets which is perfect for a 7 year old. The extra tracks provided by the two sets allow him to rearrange the tracks in multiple configurations in a generous track size... a good 6 feet in all directions. It also allows him to make the train a lot longer and provides a few extra wooden buildings, trees, etc....This set is pretty inclusive with flat, wooden characters, buildings, trees, etc so it isn't absolutely necessary to get the add-ons I will mention here, but they are a bit different than the typical plastic action figures most kids are used to. My grandson enjoys them but seems to prefer the figures I bought to go with the battery operated set, which are plastic with movable legs and arms. Also, this set does not come with any caribou which was an important part of the movie, but these can be purchased separately. They are pretty pricy at nearly $30 for 6 pieces (same as the plastic characters!). For just a little more than the cost of this caribou set you can get the entire battery operated version of the train set (mentioned in my first paragraph) and it includes the caribou. My grandson really enjoys playing with the caribou with both train sets, but note the caribou that come free with the battery operated train set are lacking the more authentic coloring of the set of caribou that is sold separately -- they are tan instead of brown -- but this really isn't a big deal to him. (Maybe I'll add some darker coloring with a brown marker - lol!) I should warn that the plastic characters and caribou you can buy as add-ons are very small (like 1-1/2" and 1" high respectively) but seem sized according to the size of the train and he really likes them. This set is great with or without any add-ons.The prices currently available here for this wooden train set are way too steep at $113 to $149 so I took another reviewer's advice and checked out Toys R Us. It was $60 at the store but they gave us their online price which was $30 so we got two sets for only $60. Well worth the price!This is a well made, fun toy that will last a long time, possibly a generation - just shop for a better price.

I bought this from a garage sale for $4.00. I've been wanting to get one for my daughter since the movie came out, but couldn't afford the $200 price. She adores this train set, and it gives her hours of imaginative play. My ONLY complaint is the way the wooden track pieces are made, the little wooden junction is very easily broken. It glues right back together well with wood glue, but it happens quite often. I'd say half of our train tracks have had to be glued. However, the good news, is it is exactly the same train tracks that comes with other wooden train sets. We've bought more tracks at Wal-Mart.Overall, excellent old-fashioned play toy that my daughter loves. Hard to find, not available even online from anyone except Amazon and internet dealers. Going for about $200 online, so if you find one at a garage sale, snap it up!

I ordered this for my grandson. He is obsessed with The Polar Express. It was a good train set, but I paid way too much for it. I expected alot more for the price I paid.

This is a very sturdy set but two cautions - It doesn't have that many tracks so it's fine by itself but I would have thought twice if it was the only set I owned. I got if for under our tree so another caution! This was on sale from 60 dollars to 40 dollars at toys r us, and you don't have to pay shipping either, this price seems steep but still worth it.

This same exact set is available online at TOYS R US for 29.99. Its on clearance. Don't buy it off of amazon.com without doing your homework. I am just an honest consumer and saw the difference.
