Hipshot Brass A-Style Bass Bridge Mount 1 - No String Through Black

I have a made in Mexico Fender deluxe active Precision Bass. The vintage bridge that came with the bass was not that great and needed a replacement to make it sound unique. This Hipshot bridge definitely delivers.First of all, installation on this bridge is simple. Put it on any flat top bass with a 3 or 5 hole bridge configuration and it will go right on with 3 screws. The saddles are a little stuck in place during shipping, and you may have to gently break them free before you can adjust them properly. Not too terrible. I had my guitar tech do a full setup after I installed the bridge and now it is truly amazing and enhanced the tone of my generic active P Bass.Since this bridge is basically a hunk of solid brass, you will get a slightly warmer tone out of your instrument when you play with it. I play a set of 50-110 gauge strings and this thing also does a great job of keeping tension. Thanks to this extra tension, the sustain is also decently increased. For an all around change to sound, the bass now sounds more woody and warm. The bass delivers booming lows, solid mids, and punchy highs with my setup.Although $100 is a little pricey, and you can get a Leo Quan Badass for that kind of money, I would still recommend you try one of these. You might find you'll like it like I did.
