Audio Technica ATH-ES10 Earsuit Portable Headphones (Japan Import)

The sound on these things is as great as everyone online says (although I would recommend you buy them from the Sonic Electronix website itself, where it costs only 329.00 with free shipping, the lowest price I've seen these in the states), but the ear pads are almost unwearable after about 2 hours or so. They're made of pleather, or some kind of pseudo-leather, and become uncomfortable after long periods of time. Your best bet is to look online for a pair of the lampskin ear pads that come with the ESW9, which are the same size as the ES10's and can easily be swapped out. With the lambskin pads, you can wear these bad boys all day with absolutely no problems at all.Enjoy! =)Added 7/28/2013: It appears that ESW11 ear pads can also be swapped out for the shoddy ES10's. These (and the ESW9 pads both) can be purchased either through ebay or the Audio Technica website itself (simply e-mail [email protected] and request them).May 2019 Update: These are still going strong, and I see amazon’s price here is better than what I paid at Sonic electronix so that’s pretty great. I still can’t use them too long because of the pads (even with the switched out es111 pads) but I’m used to it at this point. If you have a smaller head they probably won’t bother you at all :). In any case, love these bad boys. Highly recommended.

This product is real and qualified. The survice is wonderful and patient. I find it really good and start to breank in. ATH-ES10 is one of the best headphone you can get, and I hope you can understand that new headphones need time to break in and will become better and better in few weeks. My answer for this is "worthwhile"

Outstanding Headphones for Hi res Audio formats. The ES10 Titanium housing looks and make sound well balanced for any kind of music. Sound stage is deep and well detailed. Speaking only about sounding, this can has a well balanced mids and high but the lows are well presented with much detail.I am using them with a Audeze Deckard DAC(32/384kHz) and Dragonfly red(24/96kHz) and the music rise to such melodic and real point that make me smile listening again my daily playlist.In conclusion great headphones to enjoy your daily Hi res music.My former ATH-ESW9 last many years so I am expecting the same construction quality on this ATH-ES10 .

I've owned mine for 3.5 years now, the sound is amazing even without an amplifier of some sort, after almost daily use these are very well manufactured, the only issue is the ear cup(soft kushy part) visually looks warn, but functions 100%. After 3.5 years not bad, the most important thing with this earshot is the size, they are very large ON EAR, which means they are not big enough to go OVER your ears. Still are very comfy for hours on end. Would recommend 10/10 for all music types. Also they get loud enough to use as a small speaker.

This is one of the best headphones I've ever listened to, period. And it's a portable! Audio-Technica really broke the mold with this headphone, and they have since released a few other models based on this design. The sound quality is characterized by phenomenal bass extension and resolution, tamed mids, and bright highs. They don't need a powerful amp to produce great sound.The earpads are not uncomfortable to me, this is a very subjective issue. I have tried other earpads, such as the ESW11LTD lambskins, and while those are slightly more comfortable for long listening sessions, they also change the sound characteristics. The pleather ES10 pads have a distinct sound signature and bring out more bass emphasis, I think this is why Audio-Technica used them for this model even when they were pulling out the stops for everything else.

Far too much bass, tracking down some ESW11 pads helps but it's still too bassy.Treble is also a bit grainy, the much cheaper DT1350 sound better everywhere, but the ES10is beautiful, light and great to wear, if you're a bass head you'd love them, and in the UK at leastway way too expensive.

2年ほど使用しています。ほぼ同価格帯のソニーのMDR-1AM2のアンバランス接続、iphoneSE直挿しでの比較レビューになります。ソニーのと比較して全体的に音の分離性がよく、キレがありますソニーのは音に響きがあり、コンサートホールで演奏している感じで、こちらは野外公演といった感じです。また低音が力強く、音も鮮明ですオーケストラで多数のストリングが重なった迫力ある場面でも、音が潰れることなくしっかり鳴らし切ってます。ソニーのはその点弱く、音が丸まってしまっています。中高音域はすこし弱く、特にボーカルは明らかにソニーに分があります。ボーカルソロの曲を聴いている分には、癖の範囲内という感じで優劣はないのですが、多数と楽器がボーカルが重なった賑やかな曲を聴くと、こちらは声が混ざってしまうのに対して、ソニーは人の声に特化しているのか、しっかり鳴らし切ります。端的に言えばJ-POPやアニソンをよく聴くならソニー、映画のサントラやインストをよく聴くならこちらです。ボーカル曲さえ除けば総合的な実力はこちらの方が上かと思います。レビュー現在、同価格帯とは言え、発売10年経っても未だに3万近い機種と発売間際で開発費を回収できていない機種での比較なので、実質的にはこちらの方がハイスペックと言えるかもしれません。しかし、ボーカルについては他にも上手に鳴らす機種はあると思うので、ぜひ視聴をお勧めします。

かれこれ10年くらい使っちゃってますがヘッドバンド部分がボロボロで売るに売れずに結局我が家にいます。音質は確かに低音はタップリしてますが高温の伸びやかさが足りずになんだか安っぽい音に聞こえてしまいます。買った時は確か3万円弱だったような気がしますがとても3万円の音とは言い難いと思いました。厳しい評価になってしまいましたが、救いなのはいまだにイヤーパッドが手に入る事です。うちのもイヤーパッドがボロボロになりましたので交換しました。

２年ほど前にアマゾンで購入しました。以前使っていたWS70をグレードアップしたくて店頭試聴したときに一聴惚れしました。デザインは最近のモデルに比べれば流石に古さを感じますが、とてもスマートです。この薄いハウジングからは想像できない音が聞けます。高音は刺さりのない非常に聞きやすい音で、良く伸びてくると思います。ボーカル域から中高音の響きは最高です。低音は量は若干多めでかなり低いところまでなります。重低音といってもよいかもしれませんが、キレと締まりが良く、他の音域を邪魔しません。量の比率は低：中：高で4：3.5：2.5くらいかと思います。音の分離もよく、情報量が多くなっても聴き疲れしないと思います。音の線が太く、厚みもあり、エッジは丸められている印象で最近のカリカリの高解像度とは真逆の音だと思います。ハウジングが薄く小さいので抜けはいまいちですが、篭りや曇りは感じません。ウォークマンなどに直差しでも十分良い音で聴くことができますが、ポータブルアンプを入れて、ドライバーの駆動力を上げて少し大きめの音量で聴くと至福のひと時を満喫できます。音源の質やアンプのチューニングの違いも正直に出てくるのである意味扱いにくいかもしれませんが、イコライザの調整も含めて決まった時の音は、何度聴いても飽きることなく聴き続けられるくらいです。

3〜4カ月前に購入しました。音楽を楽しむときには、このES10か同社のES88、暑いときはBOSE IE2や同社のCKS90(青)、DENON AH-C350 etc.のように色々なものを使い回していますが、このES10の出番が一番多いです。自分は低音好きですが、量があればいいという事ではなく、クリアで程よい量の低音を楽しみたいので、高音もクリアに鳴るイヤホン、ヘッドホンでないと満足できませんでした。このES10、先に難点を挙げると、スイーベルのネジが緩みやすい、ハウジングがきれいすぎて気を使う、やはり夏は蒸れる、とこのくらいです。音質は、ポータブル機としては文句なしです。細かいことをいうと、若干狭い空間で鳴っている感じもしますが、許容範囲です。低音は、バンバン出ている訳ではなく、地面を這うような鳴り方で、他の音の邪魔をしない、でもちゃんと主張はしている低音です。重低音に定評のあるBOSE IE2→ES10→IE2の順で聴いてみると、はじめはある程度よく聴こえていた音も、ES10を聴いた後だと、全体的に籠りすぎていて、聴くに耐えられないものになってしまいました。高音も、キンキンすることなく、心地よく響く高音を楽しむことができます。遮音、音漏れは、普通のヘッドホンと変わりません。よほどの音量にしなければ電車でも問題ないです。しかし、よほどの音量にすると、このヘッドホンの迫力を実感出来ると思います。アンプを使うとなお良し。周囲に迷惑をかけないように楽しみましょう。
