After a few weeks with the SurfacePad for my new(ish) iPhone 6 Plus I have been very satisfied with the latest model
I had one of the first SurfacePads for my iPhone 5. It worked as advertised, but after a few months the stitching on the top cover started to separate and the top cover started to soften. After a few weeks with the SurfacePad for my new(ish) iPhone 6 Plus I have been very satisfied with the latest model. The two card slots are perfect for a photo ID and my go-to bankcard (ahem, once ApplePay gets more users, I could perhaps use the slot for business cards...) and the cloth interior lining does a good job protecting my new giant screen, although I wish it would lie completely flat (although it is much flatter than when it was new out of the box -- worn in, I suspect, by being in my pants pocket). My sole workmanship complaint is that the raised leather markers for the volume buttons on the spine are just a little bit off. But if you push an average-sized finger on one of the "buttons" it will hit the button you meant. If I was a touch more obsessive, though....The case is slim, attractive, and useful (the ID and cards), and on a recent flight, my hubby and I watched a video (shared one bud each of my EarPods) and the "stand feature" worked very well -- beats the heck out of holding it for an hour or so.I would always like everything to be a bit cheaper, but the SurfacePad is useful and attractive -- just like the iPhone 6 Plus.

Very handsome case, outweighed by shortcomings. Not recommended.
PROS -• Well-made case, leather is high-quality.• Fits perfectly.• Looks great.CONS -• No protection for the sides, but this is very obvious.• Inside of the case (suede gray lining) accumulates oil and gets dirty very easily.• Card slots are a little flimsy, and the case won't lay flat if you have cards inside (even after several weeks of breaking it in).• Using the camera becomes an exercise in frustration. Must use two hands.• Expensive. Be sure you really really want this case, or you'll regret it.THE REALITY -I used this case on my iPhone 6S Plus for about 6 weeks, often with two plastic cards (license and transit card) inside. Within 24 hours, I managed to drop the phone; the case flipped open and the phone landed facedown on the floor. Absolutely no protection for the face. This is a bigger deal than you would think. You will drop your 6 Plus; it is large, and humans are clumsy. Use it over carpet.Using the camera was annoying. Very difficult to use the volume-up shutter-button with this case in place. Holding the phone for selfies was generally fine, but the case flopped around while shooting with the main camera. Be prepared for frustration. After 6 weeks of being carried around in my pocket, with cards in the case, the outside of the case looks fine - the black leather hides stains. The inside of the case looks dirty. But the worst part is that carrying plastic cards pressed against the screen of your phone, constantly causing just a small amount of friction as the case shifts and moves in your pocket, means that the cards will (permanently) scuff the glass of the phone. It's likely just a scuff on whatever coating is used on the iPhone glass, but it is a real scuff, and very obviously from the cards in the case.I removed the case from my phone. In doing so, the (reusable??) adhesive peeled away from the leather in parts. So now I can't reuse the case, even if I wanted to.I don't want to.If you are NEVER going to drop your phone, and will not put plastic cards in the case (business cards are fine), and don't mind dealing with a flapping case while trying to take pictures, and just want a very pretty piece of leather on your phone, this case is great. If you are a human, occasionally clumsy, who would like a leather case that looks nice and actually provides a hint of protection for your $800 pocket computer, get the Apple Leather Case.

More of a Jacket than a cover
This case is okay if you know exactly what you are getting, which I did not.The quality of the leather is great. It is high quality, there is not doubt about that. The stitch work on the back is great, and it looks good. The name of the item is "Ultra Slim Cover". I don't know that I would call this a cover but rather a jacket. It does NOT provide any protection to the phone, but rather it just gives some minimum protection to the screen when you put it in your pocket and you can also carry your credit cards. I ended up dropping my phone from my hand into our dinner table one day, about 6 inches, it got a notably dent on the side. So again, if you are looking at this for protection this is not the right product for you.If you add more than one credit card per slot the slot gets baggy after a couple of days. If you do not use it as a wallet then the inner felt keeps the screen from getting greasy, but then again, when you start putting cards on it make the grease more notably since you see the lines of the felt at the bottom and around the cards.A huge con is that it lacks a magnet. Without cards it closes okay but as soon as you add cards the cover gets farther and father away from the screen. I ended up buying a Shelton case which actually has a magnet. It makes a huge difference specially when you on a call.So just to make an analogy, if you were riding a motorcycle and you were looking for a helmet for protection, getting this would be like getting a really cool looking beanie.

5-star quality, 2-star usability
If we're rating this by quality alone, it gets 5 stars without a doubt. The leather is nicely finished, the stitching is excellent, it even has that lovely leather smell. Couldn't ask for more there, and the magical mystery adhesive that sticks the case to the phone works well too. It's that type where rinsing it off with water restores any lost stickiness from repeated use.The problem is, using the phone with this cover attached is kind of a pain, it might work better with a smaller phone. It's just too awkward to hold in either landscape or portrait modes with the back flipped over, and letting it flap around over your hand isn't an ideal option either. Taking a photo using the phone's main camera is difficult too, since this case covers the back entirely if you have it flipped open. A well-built case, but somewhat poorly executed.

Beautiful quality real leather.
Absolutely love this cover. Had to trim it around the torch for the iphone 8 plus, but you can hardly tell. I had this cover for my iphone 6s and also I have it on my ipad, and loved it so much I couldn't find one better for my new phone. it is very well made, with quality real leather. it is very slimline, and looks very slick, but probably not for you if you are prone to dropping your phone, as I don't think it would save it from damage. The horizontal stand is great.

Excellent for anyone looking to become 'minimalist'!!
It took a little getting use to, this cover is very different to any other I've come across before - and with two tech savvy teenagers I've seen a lot! You stick it to your phone and it surrounds the phone with a beautiful leather skin. You can add a couple of credit cards and a bank note if you need cash but this is all about taking just the essentials. My loyalty cards and membership cards are all electronic now and all work well

6 months later....
The case looks amazing right out of the box, but give it a couple of months of wear and tear and it will quickly become an eye sore. The edges of the case wear out the fastest, the sand coloured leather changes into a mud brown and starts to "take over" the case. Also DO NOT get it wet. Water seeps under the leather very quickly, I unfortunately dropped the phone into a very small puddle of water collected on a table top near our pool and the case has never been the same since, even after an exhausting period of drying and trying to fix the damage I had caused; the phone probably spent less than 4 seconds on the water but it was enough to ruin the case. Nevertheless I kept it on and the damaged look began to grow on me, gave it a weathered charm. I feel the leather is not durable enough for everyday use, If leather wallets can keep their look after years of use this case should be able to maintain it as well. With all this said, I have ordered another one, I do like the look and convenience the case has to offer but shouldn't have to be buying a new one twice a year. All the wear and tear described above has no effect on the way the case sticks to the phone, the damage was purely aesthetic; The stickiness is amazing.

A case of mixed feelings
This is a mixed review. There's a lot to like about this case, but it's also not without some quite significant disadvantages.Looking first at the positives, this case is extremely slim - in fact, it's probably the slimmest fold-over 'folio' style case I've come across. That's particularly good news with the iPhone 6 Plus, which is already a fairly substantial beast - one doesn't really want it to be any bigger. It's also the usual TwelveSouth quality - the case feels well made, there's no errant stitching, and the soft material that rests against the screen is lovely.Having said that, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, in terms of protection, this case is limited. It'll protect the screen against nicks and scratches, but that's really about it. There's no side or edge protection at all, and the rear protection is at best 'partial'. Whilst we're on the subject of the rear, let's talk adhesive: it's quite strong stuff, and as other reviewers have noticed, removing this case to transfer to a new device tends to leave an adhesive residue behind, which then requires some work to clean off. Of course, the case then won't adhere to the new device because the adhesive has been left behind. So it's a case of compromises. If those compromises are acceptable to you, then it's undoubtedly a fine looking case.
