Impressive, Comprehensive Book on Kitchen and Bath Design Presentation
First of all, the length, scope, and depth of this book is outstanding. It's excellent for students and professionals alike. If you want the most up-to-date information on NKBA Standards, you will find it here. The information is covers is so comprehensive and it is full of not only designs, but the information on how to complete the designs and their presentations. The description page says the book is "heavily illustrated" and this is definitely accurate. There are numerous drawings, documents, sketches, floor plans, and more. It includes information on both hand and computer drafting. Proper measuring is covered, which is absolutely critical.I like that the author is not only an instructor but also owns her own firm, so you get information from someone that not only teaches the information, concepts, techniques, and standards, but also has first-hand experience as well.Proper preparation and presentation are essential. This book teaches you how to make sure you are completely prepared to explain your presentation to clients so that they are not only able to understand, but also able to visualize your plans. Visualization is not easy for many people, so this is a critical skill to possess, especially with areas as complicated as kitchens and baths. And that is why I like the fact that this book really helps convey that with extensive illustrations throughout the book. If you need more information on a certain topic or technique, there are resource appendices as well.Overall, I like how the information is presented in a practical way. I find that important in any text. There's no point reading a book that covers all the important information but isn't understandable or applicable to the reader. This book takes all the complicated topics, subjects, and techniques, and presents them in a very practical way. Techniques are explained verbally and visually through illustrations, drawings, and documents. Not only is it well illustrated, as mentioned above, but it is also well organized--another important aspect if an author is presenting complicated concepts that need to be explained in a practical way that professionals and students can comprehend, relate to, and apply on their own. We all know how confusing and frustrating it is when we are trying to read a book that seems to follow no order and has no structure. That is certainly not the case with this book.I like that the book not only teaches you information, but also helps you understand it. This might be a simplistic comparison, but when I went to school, we were taught our addition and subtraction facts but never told how or why 2+2 equaled 4. Today, I can tell you from experience, that we not only teach facts but we explain what addition means (putting things together) and we use hands-on examples and illustrations to show why 2+2=4. If students understood the concept behind addition, they would understand it much better and be able to apply it on their own in many different areas. While this is a very simplistic example, I say it to illustrate the importance of understanding a concept and not just memorizing the steps needed to perform a technique. I like that this book expertly explains everything through both words, examples, and illustrations. Even more, the author also provide tips from professionals in the field. Finally, I like the summary and review questions at the end of each chapter. It's a known fact that repeating the information we just learned helps to solidify it in our minds and even helps us understand it better. So I definitely recommend not skipping this section.I highly recommend this book based on the wealth of information provided in one resource. The information is complete and up-to-date and the book is chock full of illustrations of all kinds. You not only get the information you need, you get explanations, examples, and tips. This book helps you transform ideas into reality. Again, I'll relate it to teaching. You could possess all the knowledge and information to be a teacher or professor in a certain subject area, but if you can't convey that information to others, or implement your concepts and ideas, then you aren't going to be a successful educator.I also can't help but reinforce that this is the NKBA's complete guide -- the industry standard. Again, I highly recommend this book. You will use it and refer to it over and over again.

Another great NKBA text
This is a very specific text detailing the ins and outs of creating a kitchen or bath design presentation. The text mainly covers digital rendering (which looks pretty amazing - Property Brothers on HGTV use a similar system). A lot of the programs discussed are the main CAD programs in the field. A few other systems are mentioned, but it really does focus on CAD - so having a background in this program is highly recommended. The text mainly covers residential plans - so this won't really apply too much to commercial kitchens or baths (which have an entirely unique set of ADA, OSHA and other safety guidelines).A lot of the design discussion covers LEED and sustainable construction and how to approach it in the presentation and design.Another solid technical text targeted at contractors and designers in a very specific field.

A highly detailed textbook for students and reference for professionals
This book covers everything you could want to know about drafting kitchen and bath project documents to industry standards. It starts with the basics, including a discussion of tools and equipment, and provides plenty of examples. Beyond that, it features a comprehensive reference of official NKBA symbols and terminology that will prove useful for professionals.Take a gander at the table of contents and know that the content is dense and sans fluff.Like all textbooks, this will not be easy on your wallet. However, unlike many textbooks, you'll want to hang on to this one long after school is over.

Over Sold Edition
Not what I expected, it should have shown more Kitchen & Bathroom Software 20/20 or ProKitchen Software presentations.I was expecting a more up to date version on this subject. This publication showed more manual presentations ie drawings/perspectives/plans and elevations. It would have been great to show a well presented design scheme as it should be presented professionally. Not that impressed with the book as a whole, but will use it in the studio as a point of reference for our projects

A solid textbook
This is a comprehensive book for anyone looking to pull his or her design and presentation skills to a pro level. The many illustrations are great, but the text is very good, too. The price of the book is steep as it is a textbook, but if you're in the field, this book is a must.
