Danner12785 Pre-Filter for 02750 to 02755 Pumps, Black

This thing will not collapse like the cheesy filter that comes with the 1,800 gph Mag pump. That thing is 2 pieces that screws together. The two ring clogs that help internal support it will fail, aka move out of place, then the filter will collapse and deform.If your pump comes with that.filter, I would suggest trying to epoxy the clog rings with something that will not hurt your fish, or buy this one.This filter is 2 pieces too, but the main part is 1 strong piece as you see in the picture. The other part is an insert that should be slid on the pump's output first and snug it on, you then should slide the filter onto the insert. It's just easier to do it this way to snug each piece onto the pump.So what is bad about this filter?The problem is the slits are a good 1/4 inch wide that runs the total width of the filter. We get those thin Pin Oak leaves in our pond and these clog it up. They get sucked up into the pump.We installed, aka wrapped, a cut down cheap rather stiff garden net to keep birds out of a garden around it. It's mesh is about 1/4 inch.Works great now, basically with a 1/4 x 1/4 square inch hair net for the filter. It allows the small algae, green sludge to pass through the pump, that the sponge filter we were using wouldn't pass, and the green crap now goes through the pump and gets trapped in our Skippy Filter.

This one works great. It is a hard plastic and has kept my waterfall working. I can just scrape the leaves off the outside of filter and get them out of the pond. In my case it works great.

Needed a new piece for my filter. Quickly arrived and has been working well ever since!
