So initially I wasn’t going to purchase this because of the bad reviews. However I decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did. We just purchased a home and we needed some light remodeling done prior to our move in. The carpets had recently been replaced and were in good shape so we wanted to protect it. We ordered two rolls, we have a 2,000 sq. ft townhome. My fiancé and I covered the flooring and crossed our fingers. We had 5-6 different contractors coming in and out of the home over the course of 60 days (hauling out appliances, removing cabinets, toilets, etc.) When we returned to the home and looked at the covering you could tell it had been through hell and back. But when we removed the plastic sheathing the carpet was pristine! We were blown away.If you plan to order this, a few things you need to know:1. You MUST have a second person to use this product. You CANNOT do this alone, you will fail Person #1 needs to hold the roll nice and sturdy. Person #2 pulls the plastic from the roll.2. You CANNOT be in a rush, if you do it’s going to fold in on itself and you will need to create a “lip” to get it going again. Take your time!3. DO NOT USE THIS ON HARDWOOD FLOORING!!! The adhesive is very strong and will leave traces on the flooring.4. Lay the product in straight lines, do not try to curve or go around corners.Again don’t believe the negative reviews this product is top notch!

This product clings very well to carpet and to itself. Getting it started can be a pain, but this has been my go to type of protection when doing remodels in homes with carpets. I use it the most when I am protecting carpeted stairs. It is very hard to get any protection to stay in place on stair steps. This stuff will do the trick. When you are done, it is very easy to remove. a great product I will use again.

Worst crap I’ve ever ordered. I’m a contractor who has laid miles of carpet protector and this is horrible. Sticks like superglue to itself but barely sticks to floors at all and rips so easy. Looks like absolute crap. Horrible product don’t buy.

The 36" width is hard to find locally so I ordered this on Amazon. Our basement stairs are 36" width and carpeted so I use this to keep the carpet clean when hauling messy things in or out. The 24" roll has to be laid twice which is a real pain to do on stairs. This certainly was easier to lay down but the film is noticeably thinner than what I typically buy at local big box stores. I laid it prior to receiving a delivery of a new water heater and left it down for a few days until a junk removal service carried the old out and it did hold up with no noticeable rips or tears. The method I found that works for stairs is to use something like a 2x4, etc. close to the width and use that to push the film into the nook at the bottom of each riser and hold it there while pulling enough film off the roll to cover the next tread and riser. It's made laying it much easier but the 36" width is much more difficult to get off the roll.

I hope I never see this stuff again. Maybe if you are a contractor or laying very straight, long, flat areas. Stairs are a nightmare, it sticks to itself and basically creates a trampoline between every stair. Decided it was too much of a hazard and pulled it all up.If I had 2 hours for a single staircase and 2 people, *maybe*. Easy? No. Worth it? Probably not.

Hi initially bought this to protect my zebra rug that is on hardwood floor. However, I wish I would’ve purchased this years ago because I have a couple of dogs and although my dogs are housebroken they still shed. It’s so much easier to just swiffer over this plastic after, the brand new rug has been covered in protective film. Totally worth the money. And if you’re using it for construction purposes, it is durable to save the carpet if you have traffic On the carpet.

we lined our carpeted stairs in our garage thru the winter and it worked great. saves all the mud, sand and salt. Plan to use it every winter!!!
