My kids are board game aficionados at a very young age.Because they're so young, yet quite intelligent, we have to stick to games that are conceptual and simple, yet also strategically interesting. The old "a moment to learn, a lifetime to master" dynamic. For example, they like Checkers, Chess, Chinese Checkers, Abalone, etc. They are less into Monopoly or The Game of Life.This game is great because:(1) It is very inexpensive, yet very nicely made and finished(2) It is very easy to learn(3) It is deceptively challenging(4) It is very different in its domain of possibilities, moves, counter-moves, and tactics from any other game we haveWe're all still trying to get a handle on mastering this one (adult included) and they request to play it often. Especially at this price, for a solid wood board and very hefty, high quality rubber pieces, this is a big win.

My son will be 3 soon. He likes shapes so I wanted a geoboard for him to play and to practice his motor skill. When I saw this Viahart Rubber Road Band Wooden Board Game and Pegboard, I was happy because it can be used as a geoboard and my son could play the game once he is a little older. Maybe my husband and me will try to play first for our night game.The board is very well made. We didn’t use the rubber bands that come with yet. I bought some color rubber bands for my son to use with the board. He enjoys it a lot.I will update once he plays with its as a board game.

As an occupational therapist with children, I recently purchased this game for use with older children to address problem solving and dexterity, but I find that my young clients--even preschoolers, are eager to engage in creating their own patterns on the board. It is a great game for children 4 years old and up, and offers many options for building visual motor skills, as well as hand dexterity in managing the rubber bands. Great product!

This is a fantastic-quality product. I am a reading specialist and learning disability interventionist, and I purchased this to replace the flimsy plastic Geoboards that I formerly used with my students. The board is large and solid, and the pegs are sturdy and prominent. It is easy to fit the rubber bands over the pegs, and they stay in place very nicely. I am certain that it makes a wonderful game board, but it is also very useful to a teacher who wishes to provide students an alternative to a Geoboard for forming letters, numbers, and geometric shapes. It also provides a good base for working on X-Y coordinates with older students who benefit from concrete representations of more abstract concepts. I cannot say enough good things about the Rubber Road board. I would give it more than five stars if I could.

After reading the description of this game, watching Viahart's instructional video, and reading the one review that you have, we decided to buy this game for our two granddaughters, ages 8 1/2 and 6 1/2. It is recommended for ages 8 and up but both of them enjoyed playing it. The 8 yr old did do better at it, but they both also enjoyed using it for "art work". Their parents played it and said " This game could become addictive! " We all played it off and on for the rest of the evening, until they had to leave and take the game home with them. Just as described, the concept is easy to learn, but takes time to master, making it a challenge. The games go quickly enough that even the younger child didn't get bored. It is a very well made game! Even the box is heavy duty and very nice. I would highly recommend it. I may even have to buy one to have at our house!

I was looking for a similar game to the classic game Twixt and I found it. I have excellent childhood memories of paying this game with my dad. I hope my children will remember the games as I did. I also bought a few extras to give as gifts.

This game is great! I purchased it for dual purposes. My husband and I can enjoy a quiet and stimulating game when the kids are in bed. And by day it doubles as a peg board so my son can practice his shapes and letters. Love the thickness of the rubberbands. This item is well constructed. Made to last and durable. I will buy from VIAHART again.

I have not yet opened this product, it's a Christmas gift. But the company reached out to me. What I do like about this product right now is its versatility at a reasonable cost. I want a peg board for my kids (one, not multiple, which seems to be the more popular option in peg board buying), that it's wood, and also a game they can grow into sold me. I will try and update come December when it actually gets opened and used ;)
